(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners in Los Angeles gathered at the busy Santa Monica Pier Park on September 4, 2022 to wish Dafa’s founder, Mr. Li Hongzhi, a Happy Mid-Autumn Festival. The festive atmosphere prompted many passing tourists to stop and take pictures. This event allowed practitioners to thank Master Li for publicly spreading Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong), enabling them to enjoy good health and obtain the meaning of life through cultivation.
Even though they come from different races and social backgrounds, every practitioner of Falun Dafa has wonderful memories associated with their own cultivation experience.
Around a hundred Falun Dafa practitioners gathered at the Santa Monica Pier to practice the Dafa exercises, and wished Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa, a happy Mid-Autumn Festival on September 4, 2022.
Ms. Zhu Dechao said, “Thank you, compassionate Master, and I wish you a happy Mid-Autumn Festival!”
Ms. Zhu Dechao has practiced Falun Dafa for over 24 years. Unbelievably, this good-natured person once possessed a notoriously bad temper.
“My temper (before cultivating Falun Dafa) was terrible. I used to work as a bank accountant. Whenever the situation turned against me, or when someone criticized me, I would violently lose my temper. Even the bank president and section chief were not spared. I would slam my fists on the table, throw items, and mercilessly scold my superiors. Bank customers suffered similarly. My daughter and husband also had to endure my verbal and physical abuse. My husband often remarked, “You would be perfect if not for your bad temper.” Even I became troubled by my uncontrollable temper.”
She said that she started practicing Falun Dafa because she wanted to change her bad temper. “In May 1998, a colleague’s family member advised me to practice Falun Dafa to solve my temper issues. On hearing that Falun Dafa could help improve my temper, I immediately decided to give it a try. My initial reading of Zhuan Falun further cemented my respect [for the practice], as I found the book’s contents very good.”
From then on, Ms. Zhu started practicing Falun Dafa in earnest. By applying the teachings she learned in Zhuan Falun, she quickly got rid of her short temper. “Now, I face each day with a smile, assured that I have found my path in life.”
Ms. Zhu used to suffer from hypertension. Her older family members had all suffered or died from this genetic disease. Yet two months after starting Falun Dafa cultivation practice, her illness disappeared. Having received this miracle, she felt incredibly fortunate.

Christine Connor, an acupuncture doctor, said she feels the constant guiding presence of Master Li.
Christine Connor is a Traditional Chinese Medicine acupuncturist, who runs her own practice in Orange County, California. In 2011, after hearing about the brutal persecution faced by practitioners in mainland China, she became deeply moved by their unyielding spirit and steadfast belief in Falun Dafa. This led to her deep interest in the practice.
“In the end, I attended a free exercise class. The first time I practiced the exercises I knew in my heart that this was what I had been looking for.” Her background in Traditional Chinese Medicine also gave her an edge in understanding the various Falun Gong teachings. “It feels like everything in my life was just preparing for the day I obtained the Fa,” she said.
After she began practicing Dafa, Christine felt blessed and happy. “The biggest change is my ability to better handle conflicts with others. I can restrain myself more rationally, while holding my thoughts and actions to the standards of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. This has improved my interpersonal and work relationships, while broadening my perspective and level of acceptance in all areas.”
Christine feels that Master Li has been a constant, guiding presence in her everyday life. “I am very grateful to Master Li for giving me the chance to learn Falun Dafa.”
Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China, in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Millions of people who have embraced the teachings, which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and have learned the five exercises, have experienced improved health and well-being.
