(Minghui.org) The incapacitated husband of a Huludao City, Liaoning Province resident convicted for practicing Falun Gong recently filed complaints against three perpetrators for their involvement in his wife’s sentencing.
They are Wang Baomin, the director of Suizhong County Domestic Security Office, Zhang Xiaojin, a prosecutor at Lianshan District Procuratorate, and Zhang Liang, a judge of Lianshan District Court.
Ms. Zhang Xiaona, 48, was arrested on December 3, 2021 for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999. Wang Baomin led efforts leading to her arrest.
She was indicted by Zhang Xiaojin on April 25, 2022 and sentenced to four years with a 10,000-yuan fine by Zhang Liang on May 30. She is still held at the Huludao City Detention Center at the time of writing.
Ms. Zhang’s imprisonment left her husband, Mr. Chen Jie, and their two children in a dire situation. After being electrocuted by a power line due to an accident at work in 2020, Mr. Chen had his lower left leg amputated. He cannot hold things with his right hand. His skull is exposed and he remains blind. With the family already in huge debt for his medical cost, he also struggles to pay for the two children’s college and high school tuition, as Chinese students don’t have access to student loans.
With no other way to seek help, Mr. Chen filed complaints against the three individuals mentioned above on September 4, demanding to hold them accountable for wrongfully sentencing his wife.
Mr. Chen argued that in fact, no law forbids Dafa. Although the prosecutor accused Ms. Zhang of “undermining law enforcement,” he failed to provide any evidence to show what law’s enforcement was undermined and how. With no evidence to show what crime Ms. Zhang had committed, the prosecutor and judge abused the law and infringed upon her freedom of belief by indicting and sentencing her.
