(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 33 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Liu Mingming, in her 30s, from Wendeng District, was arrested in a coordinated campaign on July 20, 2022, which marked the anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party’s launching the persecution in 1999. She was held in the Rongcheng District Detention Center. She was recently transferred to the Wendeng District Detention Center. She was officially placed under arrest.
Ms. Jiang Guixiu, in her 60s, and her non-practitioner husband were arrested by domestic security officers in Zhaoyuan City in mid-May 2022. The officers coerced and coaxed her into signing the interrogation transcript. She and her husband were each extorted 2,000 yuan. They were both released on bail that day.
On July 20, a person, who claimed to be from the Zhaoyuan City Procuratorate, called Ms. Jiang’s husband and told him that her case was turned over to the procuratorate by the domestic security division.
Ms. Wang Jian, 34, who works in the high-speed railway section in Bin County, Harbin Railway Bureau, went downstairs at her home on July 11, 2022, and was arrested by officers from the Railway Police Department, the Domestic Security Division of Bin County Police Department, and the Shengli Street Police Station. She was held in the Harbin City No. 2 Detention Center. She was officially placed under arrest by the Yilan County Procuratorate on July 21.
Mr. Zhang Bingliang, Ms. Zhang Yuxiang, Ms. Gao Shuzhen, and Mr. Kong Dequan are being held in the Mayan Detention Center. Mr. Zhou Chunbao is being held in the Guan County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is not known where Mr. Han Zhendong is being held.
The officers ransacked the homes of Mr. Zhang Bingliang and Ms. Zhang Yuxiang, and confiscated computers, printers, Falun Gong books, truth-clarification materials, and a large amount of cash.
Ms. Zheng was arrested on the afternoon of August 27, 2022, by members of the 610 Office and officers from the Suihua City Police Department.
On the same day, these people arrested Ms. Bai Shujuan, her husband, and her father. They were released after being taken to the police department for questioning.
Elderly Ms. Gao Hongxia was arrested and taken to a domestic security division as soon as she stepped out of the door on August 23, 2022. She was held there for a day. The domestic security officers ordered her to wear a yellow vest, which she refused to do. She insisted that she did not commit any crimes. Ms. Gao did not eat at noon and was released after 6 p.m.
At 10 a.m. on August 24, the officers again took Ms. Gao from her home to the domestic security division. Ms. Gao did not get home until after 1 p.m.
Mr. Liu Quanwang, Ms. Cui Bing, Mr. Zhang Aimin, and Ms. Dong Yanping, from Dayushan Community, Nanpiao District, were arrested by officers from the Jitun Police Station around 5 a.m. on August 19, 2022. Ms. Cui and Ms. Dong were held in the Huludao City Detention Center. Mr. Liu and Mr. Zhang were held in the Xingcheng City Detention Center.
Mr. Li Wenming, Mr. Zhou Wei, and others were arrested on August 23, 2022. More details are still being verified.
At around 7 p.m. on August 11, 2022, as soon as Ms. Yan Shufang returned to her residential community, three domestic security officers took her to the Dongchang District Domestic Security Division, where she was interrogated for about an hour.
Ms. Yan’s pension was suspended by the social security department, and she petitioned to have it reinstated. As a result, the Domestic Security Division imposed a penalty of residential surveillance on her.
On August 26, 2022, someone from the Judicial Correction Center called to notify Ms. Yan to prepare the paperwork and find two people to be her guarantors.
Five officers from the Luogang Police Station and the Nanqi Police Station broke into 77-year-old Ms. Ji Guangying’s home around 9 a.m. on August 25, 2022. They confiscated a computer, two printers, and over 50 Falun Gong books. They took Ms. Ji to a police station and released her after 8 p.m. The next day, the officers took Ms. Ji to the police station for questioning and asked her to sign the residential surveillance paperwork, which she refused. Ms. Ji was not allowed to go home until around 8 p.m.
Around 9 a.m. on August 26, officers Yang and Li from the Wanghu Police Station broke into the home of 76-year-old Ms. Jia Chengyuan’s daughter. Due to the demolition and relocation of Ms. Jia’s own home, she was temporarily staying in her daughter’s. The officers ransacked the place without showing any documents. They confiscated over 30 Falun Gong books. They took Ms. Jia to the police station for questioning. Ms. Jia was not released until 1 p.m. that day.
Ms. Li Mianzhen, Mr. Zheng Runye, and Ren, who is over 50 years old, were arrested while talking to people about Falun Gong in the Xiaojingyu Village on the morning of August 29, 2022.
Deputy team leader Lin and two officers from the Muling City No. 1 Police Station took Mr. Peng Jianpu from his home to the Hailin City Procuratorate, questioned him, and ordered him to sign the paperwork on the morning of August 25, 2022.
Ms. Tang Chengjun, 74, from the Wuchang District, was followed and arrested by officers from the Subway Police Department on April 12, 2019. She was given a prison term of three years and six months on November 9, 2020, ranging from April 13, 2019, to October 12, 2022. She was also fined 2,000 yuan. Her family has never received any legal paperwork.
Ms. Tang is being held in Hankou Prison. Her family members visited her several times, but the prison officials would not let them see her, depriving them of the right to visit her.
More than twelve people from the Xiufeng Police Department, the Jiashan Police Station, and the Longquan Community Management Office broke into 72-year-old Mr. Liao Shilong’s home and ransacked the place on the morning of August 13, 2022. They confiscated all his Falun Gong books, printed materials, and an audio player. They took Mr. Liao to the police station where he was interrogated and searched. Mr. Liao went home that day after signing the bail receipt.
Officer Han Dong from the Qili Township Police Station led two officers to break into Ms. Lian Shufang’s home on August 23, 2022. They took her to the police station for questioning. The officers ordered her to sign a 15-day detention form, which she refused to do. They signed it themselves. She was released that day.
Ms. Hu Guorong and her non-practitioner husband were arrested by people from the Songzi City 610 Office, the Songzi City State Security Division, and the police station on August 5, 2022. Ms. Hu was detained for 15 days. She returned home on August 20. Her husband remains in custody.
Ms. Wang Xueya and her husband Mr. Zhao Xiaoning were reported to the police while talking to people about Falun Gong in Qian County on August 17, 2022. They were arrested by officers from the Qian County Police Department. The officers confiscated a computer, Falun Gong books, and printed materials at their rented home.
On August 18, officers from the Qian County Police Department and the Chigan Police Station ransacked Ms. Wang and Mr. Zhao’s home in Maling Village in their hometown. The officers confiscated many items.
The couple was taken to the hospital by officers from the Ganxian Police Department for a physical exam. Their blood pressure readings were high. The couple’s current whereabouts are not known.
Between August 19 and August 25, officers from the Qian County Police Department went to the homes of the couple’s two sons who were doing business in Qian County. They threatened and ordered the men to hand over their parents. The men said that their parents had been taken away by the police, and the family did not know where they were. The officers threatened to shut down their shops and arrest them. Both sons and their families are scared and worried.
