Additional Persecution News from China – September 17, 2022 (10 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 11 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Zhao Peizhou Arrested and Detained
2. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] The Case Against Ms. Lu Baoqin Submitted to the Procuratorate
3. [Taian City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Xinghui and Mr. Li Cunguo Arrested and Detained

5. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Che Guiqin Harassed
6. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Qinghua Detained
7. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Rong Xiuzhen Arrested
8. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Jia Suxia’s Home Ransacked
9. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Fengqin Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

1. [Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Zhao Peizhou Arrested and Detained

Ms. Zhao Peizhou was sentenced to four years in prison in 2015 and was detained in the Zhejiang Province Women’s Prison.

Ms. Zhao was arrested again in early June 2022 for sending messages online which contained information about Falun Gong. She has been detained since then.

2. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] The Case Against Ms. Lu Baoqin Submitted to the Procuratorate

Ms. Lu Baoqin, 84, was reported to police for telling people about Falun Gong and was arrested by officers from the Yuebei Police Station in Chuanying District. Her case has been submitted to the Chuanying District Procuratorate. Ms. Lu is currently out on bail pending trial. Her pension has been suspended.

3. [Taian City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Xinghui and Mr. Li Cunguo Arrested and Detained

Mr. Wang Xinghui, 67, from Daiyue District, and Mr. Li Cunguo, 63, were arrested by officers including Tian Lin, head of the Taishan District Police Department, on the evening of September 13, 2022. The practitioners were taken to the Sanli Police Station that night and were transferred to the Xintai City Detention Center the following afternoon. They were placed under 30-day detention.

4. [Huangshi City, Hubei Province] Ms. Dong Guizhi Arrested and Detained

Ms. Dong Guizhi was arrested at home by officers from the Baquan Police Station around August 19, 2022. Her home was ransacked. She is detained in the No.1 Detention Center in the Xialu District.

5. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Che Guiqin Harassed

Three officers from the Xicheng Police Station in Bin County went to Ms. Che Guiqin’s home at 10 a.m. on September 13, 2022. They photographed and videotaped around. They also asked whether Ms. Che still practiced Falun Gong.

6. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Qinghua Detained

Mr. Wang Qinghua was transferred from the Funing County Detention Center to the Changli County Detention Center on September 13, 2022.

7. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Rong Xiuzhen Arrested

Ms. Rong Xiuzhen, around 55, lives in Jianming Community, Shijiazhuang City. She went to her daughter’s home in Kunming City in April 2021 to help take care of her grandchild. It was recently learned that Ms. Rong was arrested in Kuming City.

8. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Jia Suxia’s Home Ransacked

Three officers including the head of the Nanxiaowang Township Police Station and a village official Qin XX went to Ms. Jia Suxia’s home at 12 p.m. on September 16, 2022. They climbed over the wall from the neighbor’s yard and entered Ms. Jia’s home. They confiscated a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, a computer, printer, truth-clarifying booklets, CDs, USB drives, etc.

9. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Fengqin Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

Ms. Li Fengqin, 84, was tricked into going to the Minghua Police Station in late April 2021. She was arrested and taken to the local court. She was later bailed out. Ms. Li was sentenced to three years in prison in late 2021. The term was executed outside of the prison because of her age. Ms. Li is now too weak to walk downstairs.

10. [Beijing] Zhang Bowu Harassed

Zhang Bowu (gender unknown) from Tangshan City was arrested by officers from the Shengli Road Police Station in Shunyi District in early 2022. Zhang was released on bail pending trial for one year after being detained for one month.

Zhang has received several harassing calls. A local officer called on September 4 and requested to meet Zhang on September 17, 2022.
