(Minghui.org) Yang Dang was an official during the Three Kingdoms era (220 – 280) responsible for barracks rations. By deducting military materials illegally to line his own pocket, he made a fortune over time.
After his uncle Yang Xiu, a secretary of general Cao Cao, was executed for arrogance and disobedience, Yang Dang was afraid of facing the same fate. Yet he still planned to rake in more money during an upcoming transportation of barracks rations before retirement. Right after he had that thought, however, he experienced chest congestion, which made him agitated and unable to calm down.
Yang sought medical treatment, but it did not help. After hearing that renowned physician Hua Tuo was in town, he asked for help from Hua. Aware of Yang’s corruption, Hua found some excuses and did not come. Yang did not give up and continued asking for help, even asking his son to kneel in front of Hua and beg. In the end, Hua gave two prescriptions, reminding Yang to take them one by one.
The first prescription had a list of eight Chinese herbal medicines: er wu, guo lu huang, xiang fu zi, lian qiao, wang bu liu xing, fa xia, bi ba, and zhu sha. When connecting the first characters of the medicines together, it was “er guo xiang lian, wang fa bi zhu,” meaning, “With two crimes combined, you will for sure be punished by [military] laws.” Surprised by the message, Yang decided not to make money illegally from the upcoming transportation anymore. He then felt a little better in his chest.
When opening the second prescription, Yang found a list of six Chinese medicines. The first characters of each were, “shang ni guan mu yi fu,” meaning, “Here is a coffin for you.” Shocked by this note, Yang screamed “Alas!” He vomited blood and passed out. Upon regaining consciousness, however, he found himself already recovered.
Hua then visited Yang, saying his illness was due to “too much greed accumulated.” After he sweated in shock and vomited congested blood, he was no longer sick. From then on, Yang dared not deduct military materials for his own benefit anymore.
Known for his skills in surgery and anesthesia, Hua was actually a sage, adept at improving his patients’ body and mind. Such as an understanding was well preserved in ancient China. In Huangdi Neijing (The Inner Canon of the Yellow Emperor) it is written, “When a person has righteous qi (energy) residing inside, no viciousness is able to invade.”
Hua’s belief that one’s thoughts and actions determine one’s health also exists in modern society. Many people have seen their health improve and/or danger averted simply by believing in Falun Dafa, a meditation system based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
One example was Nancy, a Chinese student who went to the United States in 2018 to study at a college in Ohio.
Shortly after moving to a new place in April 2021, Nancy and four friends went to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. She had a little fever, but she did not pay attention to it. There were reports on increased COVID-19 cases, but she dismissed that too.
On the way to the park, Nancy felt uncomfortable and had to lie in the back seat of the SUV the entire trip. Once they got there, she stayed in their cabin to sleep, while her friends went hiking in the mountains.
Her condition worsened by the following day. “With a bad fever, I felt hot one moment and cold the next. And it continued like that,” she recalled. “I could not eat either.” Nobody knew she had caught COVID-19.
Encouraged by her friends, Nancy got in the vehicle the next morning to go on an outing. But five minutes later, she felt like she had to vomit. The driver stopped immediately and opened the door. Nancy fell out of the SUV and collapsed on the ground. “My fists were tight like chicken claws. My hands and feet were all cold,” she said. “Plus, my body was numb and I had difficulty breathing.”
Lying on the grass, Nancy felt that her life was about to end and she wanted to just give up.
“Then I remembered Falun Dafa and stories on Minghui.org about how people recovered from illness by reciting the phrases ‘Falun Dafa is good’ and ‘Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,’” she said.
Nancy once practiced Falun Dafa along with her parents when she was little, but she stopped practicing later on.
Her friends took her back to the cabin, where she kept reciting the phrases until she fell asleep. The next morning, she was glad to find herself still alive. She was still sweating, but the fever was gone and she felt much better.
“I was able to get up and eat, although I could not taste anything,” Nancy said. Two days later, everything returned to normal.
Looking back at this incident, Nancy was surprised by her quick recovery. “The day before, I felt like dying and a day later, I was just fine,” she said. “I know it is Falun Dafa that saved me.”
Two months later, her friends suggested she take a COVID anti-body test. Yes, she did have coronavirus antibody in her body, which confirmed the COVID-19 infection.
Dr. Dong Yuhong, a virologist and founder of a biotech company in Switzerland, said that Nancy’s experience is not unique. Based on reports from Minghui, Dr. Dong has collected 36 cases of recovery from COVID-19 through practicing Falun Dafa or reciting the two phrases as Nancy did. The study period was from January 1 to May 31, 2020.
According to Dr. Dong, all of these cases showed health improvement after reciting the two phrases, with 26 cases (or 72%) experiencing full recovery. The 26 full-recovery cases included 10 patients in serious condition and 3 in critical condition.
Similar to the story of Hua Tuo and what is described in Huangdi Neijing, a person’s health is closely related to his mind nature. “When a person sincerely recites the words ‘Falun Dafa is good’ and ‘Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,’ he or she will be assimilated to the positive energy of the universe. This person will then be blessed with good health,” Dr. Dong explained.
Besides the stories that Dr. Dong has collected, there are more examples documented on Minghui from late 2020 through 2022. From China, including the epicenter of the virus – Wuhan, to other parts of the world, people across continents have found renewed health and hope for the future by reciting the auspicious phrases mentioned above: “Falun Dafa is good” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”
