(Minghui.org) Dafa practitioners in Taiwan hold a free nine-day Falun Dafa workshop every other month in Taichung City. Two weeks before the 2023 Chinese New Year, they held a workshop from January 2 to 10. During the nine days of the class, the practitioners played video recordings of lectures given by Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa, and also showed videos to teach the Falun Dafa exercises. They helped correct the participants’ exercise movements. None of the participants missed a day of the workshop, and everyone arrived on time each day.
On the last day of the workshop, attendees shared their thoughts and experiences.

Learning the five Falun Dafa exercises
Five years ago, Mr. Huang’s friend gave him a copy of Zhuan Falun, the main book of Falun Dafa’s teachings. He learned the exercises from the videos on the Falun Dafa website, but he did not actually start practicing Falun Dafa. While he was jogging last year, he noticed practitioners doing the exercises in front of the Natural Science Museum. He stopped to speak to them, and they invited him to attend a Falun Dafa experience-sharing conference in November. He enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and decided to join the exercise sessions every morning. He went from being able to meditate in the full lotus position for 45 minutes to an hour.
“While attending the nine-day workshop I learned to do the exercise movements more precisely. I became more stable emotionally and I no longer easily lost my temper. I used to have back pain and could not sit still when I meditated. Now I am able to sit with my back straight after listening to the lectures and doing the exercises. My back pain is significantly reduced, and I have more energy,” Mr. Huang said.
Mr. Huang said he believes Zhuan Falun can truly guide people to improve their temperaments. He’s read the book about ten times over the past five years. When he read the books with other practitioners, he learned that some have memorized the book. He is determined to practice diligently and keep improving.
Mr. Liu said that when he watched Master Li’s lecture videos, he felt warm and as though “ten thousand lights were illuminating him.” When he repeated “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance is good,” he felt powerful energy running through his body.
Mr. Liu had practiced other forms of qigong before, and some of those qigong masters taught him techniques to treat illnesses. He had been seeing patients and conducting healings for six years. Every time he treated a patient, he felt awful and exhausted. After attending the Falun Dafa workshop, he realized that he was taking in the patients’ karma in order to heal them and that he had to suffer the karma for the patient.
Mr. Li did the exercises with other practitioners for a while, but he never attended a workshop or formally learned the exercises. So he decided to sign up for the workshop. After learning more about the profound teachings, he was able to calm down and clear his mind when he did the exercises. He also realized that he had to let go of his attachments and improve his character before he could see the effects of doing the exercises. He said that the workshop encouraged him to practice diligently in the future.
Ms. Lin’s 13 family members are all Falun Dafa practitioners. Her parents are in their 90s this year and are in perfect health. Over ten years ago, her family suggested that she practice Falun Dafa as well, but she was busy with work and household responsibilities. She only read a few pages of Zhuan Falun.
After Ms. Lin moved to Taichung, her sister encouraged her to attend the workshop. She eventually decided to come. Before she did, she finished reading Zhuan Falun. Listening to Master Li’s teachings made her feel that she didn’t want to waste any more time, and she decided to take up the practice.
Mr. Wang’s friend gave him a copy of Zhuan Falun several years ago. He read the book three times and asked his friend many questions about Falun Dafa. His friend answered his questions patiently. This made him feel that Falun Dafa practitioners are very different than other people. He thinks that people who do other qigong practices do not like to be questioned. He experienced strong energy after the nine days and felt very warm and comfortable even though it is winter.
Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China, in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Millions of people who have embraced the teachings, which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and have learned the five exercises have experienced improved health and well-being.
