(Minghui.org) Laurence, a school teacher in France with thirty years of teaching experience, started practicing Falun Dafa in 2014. Not only did she benefit physically, she also puts the Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance into practice as she teaches her young students. She incorporated them into her daily lesson plans and told teachers at her school about Falun Dafa. During the COVID pandemic, some middle schools invited Laurence and other practitioners to teach the Falun Dafa exercises, which was well-received by teachers and parents. Laurence said, “I want to spread the beauty of Falun Dafa to our next generation.”
Laurence was diagnosed with an eight centimeter long hard fibroma. She underwent an eight hour surgery in 2003, and stayed in the intensive care unit for three months. It took a year for her to recuperate and she was still under hospital supervision. Although she was cleared to return to work, Laurence still had to go for regular hospital check-ups.
The surgery caused many side effects such as stomach pain, muscle spasms and excruciating pain in her back. The declining moral standards and corrupt practices in the education system made Laurence feel physically and mentally exhausted. She lost interest in everything and felt that her 20 year long teaching career might end. Her family members were worried about her.
Laurence began searching for the meaning of life after her surgery in 2003. When a friend told her about Falun Dafa, she was only mildly interested. However, an amazing thing happened in April 2014, on the first day she did the exercises. She felt a heavy burden being lifted off her shoulders. She felt light and energetic. That night, she slept soundly and throughout the following days the side effects from the surgery disappeared.
Practicing Falun Dafa restored her vitality and she was no longer pessimistic.
She could not stop reading the book, Zhuan Falun, the main text of Falun Dafa. She felt she found a new world when she read it the first time. Upon reading a second time, she found deeper meaning behind the words in the book. Reading a third time, she began to focus more on what she was reading and more clearly understanding the principles of Dafa. She said, “This is the only book that can guide me in my everyday life. I have new understandings after reading each time. Questions that I have deep down in my heart have been answered.”
She realized that she should not quit her job and instead should introduce the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to her students.
Laurence often tells her students about the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Banners with the principles written on them were hung in her classroom. Whenever a conflict arises between her students, she reminds them of the principles. The conflicts or arguments are quickly resolved. The children hold hands and recite, “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”
During the 2022-2023 school year, Laurence taught four and five year-olds to recite Master’s Li’s poems, such as:
“We outshine other flowers, though we won’t competeIn the biting cold, we alone give off fragranceTen years of fierce winds tried to break our branchesNow the sky is clearingAnd snow on the branches melting awayThe plum blossoms are filling the courtyard”(“Ever More Beautiful,” Hong Yin III)
Laurence video recorded the children reciting Master’s poems and posted it on the school’s blog. Parents were touched and praised children for their recitation skills. They were also grateful to Master Li for composing such beautiful poems.
The students started to practice the Falun Dafa exercises every Friday. In addition, they also watched Master’s instructional exercise videos and pictures of other children around the world practicing Falun Dafa.
Laurence was touched when a student would remind her, “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” if she raised her voice or became agitated.
Laurence and other practitioners participated in the school’s book fair and demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises. They also taught parents the exercises.
A parent who had a student in Laurence’s class was a middle school teacher. During the pandemic, children were required to wear masks. It created negative emotions and the school searched for a way to help. They invited Laurence and other practitioners to teach the exercises.
In the beginning of 2022, 184 students and faculty members gathered in the school’s main hall to participate in a Falun Dafa introductory activity. Teachers expressed an interest in the practice. They hoped to start practicing the exercises. Some also obtained information about group practice sites and contact information for local Falun Dafa practitioners.

Another middle school in the same district invited Laurence and practitioners to teach the exercises last year. Everyone felt good after practicing the exercises. This 2022-2023 school year, the middle school arranged another session for practitioners to teach the exercises.
