Additional Persecution News from China – October 5, 2023 (5 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 5 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 7 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Chen Hanshou Tried

1. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Chen Hanshou Tried

Mr. Chen Hanshou was arrested and his home was ransacked in May 2021. He returned home later that day. In July 2022, he suddenly received a notification from the Jingyang District Procuratorate, which stated that he violated “Article 300 of the Criminal Law” and that he should hire a lawyer. Mr. Chen filed a complaint against the two officers from the Donghu Police Station who were in charge of his case. They privately approached him and asked for a settlement, then they turned his case over to the procuratorate.

Mr. Chen was tried by Jingyang District Court in Deyang City on September 26, 2023.

2. [Heishan County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Han Chunlong Arrested

Mr. Han Chunlong was arrested by officers from the Huangcheng Police Station in the Shenhe District on October 2, 2023. He is being held in the Shenhe District Detention Center.

3. [Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Liguo Missing

Mr. Wang Liguo from Xing’an District went missing on September 27, 2023, when he went to Wuzhishan Park to tell people about Falun Gong. He has not been heard from since that day.

4. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Li Mingshen, Mr. Yang Shuli, and Mr. Yang Aimin from Quzhou County drove to Gaofu Town, Pingxiang County, Xingtai City on September 10, 2023, to distribute information about Falun Gong. Village officials reported them to the police. They were arrested by officers from the Hegumiao Police Station in Pingxiang County.

Mr. Li and Mr. Yang Aimin were released through family connections. Mr. Li had to pay 13,000 yuan and Mr. Yang had to pay 20,000 yuan to the police. Mr. Yang Shuli refused to get out of the car when he was taken to the police station. The police contacted his son and told him to pick him up.

5. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Rong’s Daughter Harassed

Jiahe Community staff members, including Zhang Zhongfu from the Fu’an Neighborhood Committee, and other people sent Ms. Chen Rong’s daughter WeChat messages and phone calls on the morning of September 19, telling her to go to the neighborhood committee to sign paperwork.
