(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 72 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

6. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jing Fengyun and Ms. Zang Hongyan Abused in Detention Center
7. [Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Jing Detained
8. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Song Liying Detained for Ten Days

1. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Chunli and Mr. Wang Guohui Face Trial

Ms. Yu Chunli and Mr. Wang Guohui from Jihongtan, the Chengyang District are scheduled for a second hearing on the morning of October 18, 2023.

2. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Yang Qingyun Sentenced

Yang Qingyun, gender unknown, a resident of Daxicha Township, Kuandian County, was arrested on October 4, 2022 for distributing Falun Gong flyers. Yang was detained for 28 days before he or she was released on bail.

Yang was sentenced to eight months in prison on September 20, 2023, and fined 5,000 yuan. Yang was allowed to serve the term outside of prison.

3. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xie Mingyu Faces Trial

Ms. Xie Mingyu, 73, was indicted by the Chuanshan District Procuratorate for practicing Falun Gong. The Chuanshan District Court’s Criminal Court called her and notified her that the hearing was scheduled for October 17, 2023 at 9:00 a.m.

4. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Meng Qingxia and Ms. Liu Chunjie Face Second Trial

Ms. Meng Qingxia and Ms. Liu Chunjie live in Fakou County. The Liaozhong District Court scheduled their second hearing for October 16, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Ms. Meng’s family defender and Ms. Liu’s attorney entered a not guilty plea during their first court hearing.

5. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Mr. Shi Keqin Imprisoned

Mr. Shi Keqin was sent to the Jidong No. 4 Prison on September 19, 2023. He was sentenced to a four-year and six month prison term by the Funing Court.

6. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jing Fengyun and Ms. Zang Hongyan Abused in Detention Center

Ms. Jing Fengyun and Ms. Zang Hongyan, both in their 70s, developed high blood pressure while they were being held in the Changchun City Detention Center. Guards secretly put drugs into their gruel. Ms. Zang found her gruel tasted odd and stopped drinking it. To force her to finish it, guards ordered all the inmates in her cell to stand with her until she did.

7. [Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Jing Detained

Ms. Li Jing from the Hongwei District talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in late September 2023. One person who worked in law enforcement reported her. She was arrested and her home was ransacked. She is being held in the Liaoyang City Detention Center.

She was arrested on September 20, 2022 by Lanjia Police Station officers who were stationed outside her home. They ransacked her home. She was detained for 15 days before being released on bail.

8. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Song Liying Detained for Ten Days

Ms. Song Liying was arrested by officers from the Huitong Road Police Station on September 23, 2023 after someone reported her when she was telling people on the street about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was detained from September 25 to October 5, 2023.

9. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Hou Liyue Missing

Ms. Hou Liyue was arrested on October 5, 2019 and sentenced to four years in prison. She has been missing since then.

10. [Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Zhao Tianlin Held in Brainwashing Center

Mr. Zhao Tianlin, a resident of Taigu District, was held for over 50 days in the Heyuan Hotel Brainwashing Center, in the Yuci District, between late September and early November 2022.

11. [Tumen City, Jilin Province] Mr. Jin Longzhe Missing

Officers from Tumen City Domestic Security Division and local police stations arrested multiple practitioners after July 20, 2023. Mr. Jin Longzhe, 54, a Korean minority, was among those arrested. His home was ransacked, and he has not been seen or heard from since he was arrested.
