(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 16 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
The case against Mr. Jiang Chunlin was submitted to the Shibei District Court by the Laoshan District Procuratorate. He will be tried in court soon.
Three elderly practitioners from Jiangxia District, Ms. Tian Huazhen, Ms. Qiu Yongzhi, and Ms. Zhang Jiao’e, were scheduled to be tried in the Hongshan District Court at 9 a.m. on October 13, 2023.
Ms. Sun Yong from Gezhouba, in her 70s, was scheduled to be tried in court on October 25, 2023.
Ms. Zhang Yulan, 87, was placed on bail pending trial in April 2023. She was summoned to the Wangcheng District Court to sign some documents.
Ms. Deng Ximei was harassed by people from the Ningxiang City Procuratorate on October 9, 2023.
Three officers from the Xiaonanxinbao Town Police Station in Huailai County including Su Xiaojun, went to Ms. Jia Zhanhua’s home around 8 p.m. on October 10, 2023. They took a photo of Ms. Jia to confirm that she was at home and not in Beijing. It was a “sensitive period” because, at that time, a government conference was held in Beijing.
Several officers led by Du Zhiguo, head of the Sanchahe Town Police Station, went to Ms. Wang Yan’s home in No. 9 East Village at 1 p.m. on August 12, 2023. They ransacked her home and confiscated a photo of Falun Gong’s founder and a songbook. Ms. Wang and her son tried to stop them. They were arrested and taken to the police station.
Ms. Wang’s husband and other relatives went to the police station later that afternoon and requested the release of Ms. Wang and her son. Du Zhiguo demanded they pay 100,000 yuan, which was later negotiated down to 30,000 yuan. Du bluntly told them that the money must be paid in cash and there would be no receipt. After the money was paid, Ms. Wang’s son was released around 9 p.m., but Ms. Wang was still detained for five days.
Mr. Zheng Shuli from East Niniuzhuang Village of Nanshu Town, was detained for one month in the Laixi City Detention Center and was released on October 10, 2023.
Ms. Yang Jinju from Changping District has been missing for one year. It was learned that she was recently arrested again and held in the Changping Detention House.
Mr. Zhang Muqing, 42, was arrested at home by officers from the Fuyuan Road Police Station in February 2023. His home was ransacked. He has been held in the Yongxing Detention Center since then.
Ms. Xu Haihong, 56, was arrested by officers from the Liaoyuan Road Police Station in 2022 for talking to people about Falun Gong. She started a hunger strike during her detention, which lasted 15 days. She was fined 13,000 yuan and was released.
Ms. Xu was arrested at home again by officers from the Liaoyuan Road Police Station in 2023. She was sent to the Pudong Detention Center in the Jimo District. Her family has not been allowed to visit her. They finally learned that she was sentenced to one year and four months in prison and is currently hospitalized.
Ms. Li Junlan was detained for 14 days in the Changliu Detention Center in Tonghua City and was released on October 10, 2023.
Ms. Chen Xiumei was arrested at home by three officers from the Ganguantun Town Police Station at 6 a.m. on August 30, 2023. She was denied admission by the detention center due to the results of two medical examinations and was released later.
Four officers from the Ganguantun Town Police Station went to Ms. Xiao Fengmin’s home in Meierzhuang Village on September 26, 2023. After Ms. Xiao said that she still practiced Falun Gong, they arrested her and took her to the Liucheng Detention House. She was held for five days.
