1. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] The Case Against Mr. Xu Fangquan Submitted to the Intermediate Court
The case against Mr. Xu Fangquan was submitted to the Lianyungang Intermediate Court recently. The judge is Xu Min.
2. [Beijing] Mr. Shi Yingji and Ms. Hu Xiaolu Face Trial
Mr. Shi Yingji and Ms. Hu Xiaolu from the Yanqing District will be tried in the Yanqing District Court at 9 a.m. on October 19, 2023.
3. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Shujing Harassed
Ms. Zhang Shujing from Luannan County, Tangshan City, was staying in her daughter’s home in Shanghai when she was harassed by officer Jin from the Xincheng Road Police Station in Jiading District, guard Hu Weilian from Nantanghe Community, and Liu from the Nantanghe Community at 10 a.m. on September 27, 2023. They ordered Ms. Zhang to go to the local residential committee, which she refused to do. Officer Jin videorecorded her with his body camera during the conversation.
4. [Hulin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yu Jinfeng Arrested and Detained
Ms. Yu Jinfeng was arrested in 2020 for distributing truth clarifying materials and was given five days of detention, which was not carried out due to the pandemic.
Ms. Yu was arrested by two officers including Qiu Haiming from the Hulin City Police Department near her home on the morning of August 19, 2021. She was detained for five days.
5. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Xiuzhen Harassed
Three plainclothes officers went to the home of Ms. Xu Xiuzhen and her husband Mr. Qin Songfa at 2:40 p.m. on October 13, 2023. They tried to trick Ms. Xu into going to the Xiazhuang Police Station. The couple refused to go. One of the officers tried to videotape them secretly. The couple noticed and stopped him.
6. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Hu Yuanqin and Ms. Zhu Defeng Persecuted
Mr. Hu Yuanqin and Ms. Zhu Defeng from the Jiangning District were arrested on January 4, 2023, for distributing information about Falun Gong. Ms. Zhu Defeng was released on October 12, 2023. Mr. Hu Yuanqin was sentenced to one year and four months in prison. He is now in the Jiangning District Detention Center.
7. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Hou Meixian Harassed
Ms. Hou Meixian was arrested by officers from the Taishan Road Police Station on July 4, 2023. She was detained for over 40 days and released on bail pending trial. Her family member was called to the police station to sign a document before the Mid-Autumn Festival. The police officers went to harass her again on October 13, 2023, which frightened Ms. Hou’s husband who was frail and sick.
8. [Dezhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Gu Wenhua Harassed Constantly
The police have been to Ms. Gu Wenhua’s home several times and photographed her. Several officers from the Lingcheng District Police Department went to her home again on October 7, 2023. They pressured 63-year-old Ms. Gu to tell them where she got her truth-clarifying materials. They forcefully held her hand to press her fingerprint on the interrogation statement.
