(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 27 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. He Ziguang was arrested on March 13, 2023. He was placed under residential surveillance on April 19. On August 15, his case was sent to the procuratorate. On September 12, Judge Wang of the Zhucheng City Court called Mr. He and told him to come to the court to pick up the indictment.
Ms. Wang Yanqiu went to the Tiechang Police Station on the morning of September 5, 2023. She talked to someone in charge and submitted her application for revocation of bail pending trial. That afternoon, officers from the police station went to Ms. Wang’s home, but she was not there. The officers broke in, smashed the mirror on her door, and ransacked the place. When Ms. Wang returned home, two officers, including Guo, were at her home. Ms. Wang said, “Aren’t you breaking into a private house?” They took Ms. Wang to the police station, where they picked up a thick pile of documents they’d compiled on Ms. Wang and sent them to Liuhe County Procuratorate.
On September 11, the Tiechang Police Station notified Ms. Wang to go to Liuhe Procuratorate the following day.
Zhang Hong was arrested in February 2023 by officers from the Dongsheng Police Station in Erdao District. Zhang was sentenced to two years in prison by the Changchun City Court. Zhang refused to accept the sentence and has appealed.
The deputy director of the Bajiazi Police Department in Jianchang County called Ms. Gao Shufen’s son and said, “Your mother has been officially arrested and her sentence will be decided by the court.”
Many Falun Gong practitioners in Gong’an County have been harassed since September 2023, by Chen Yang and others from the Jiazhuyuan Town Police Station in Gong’an County. They include Chen Xiuyu, Ma Chaobing, Li Xuemei, Zhu Guozhen, and Chen Xiaolou. Practitioners harassed over the phone or at their homes by the residential officers in charge of Yuanzhongchang Community in Douhudi Town, Gong’an County, include Zhao Shouzhen, Yan Daoxia, Wu Guizhi, and Mao Qiang.
Two residential officers in charge of the Canling Community in Douhudi Town went to Chen Gongyu’s home and told Chen not to go out to distribute Falun Gong materials or talk to people about Falun Gong.
Officers from the Maqiu Town High-tech Zone, recently went to 69-year-old Ms. Xiong Cuihuan’s home in Changjiang Village and harassed her. To help these officers know more about Falun Gong, Ms. Xiong went to the Maqiu Town Police Station around 10 a.m. on September 8, 2023. She has not returned home.
Ms. Hu Bibo and Ms. Wu Xiuqin were arrested by officers from the Shunhe Police Station on September 7, 2023, for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were taken to the Macheng City Detention Center. It was reported that they were detained for 10 days.
Ms. Hu Yan from Nanding Town, Zhangdian District, was sentenced to one year and six months in prison. She is being held in a detention center.
Ms. He Qiuhong and another practitioner were arrested.
Around 9 a.m. on September 8, 2023, a person who claimed to be from the community management office called Ms. Lin Shuzhi’s husband and said that they wanted to meet with Ms. Lin. She was not at home at the time. Her husband was intimidated and frightened and helped two community management office staff members locate his wife. The two staff members interrogated Ms. Lin in front of her husband. One of them said, “It’s best to practice [Falun Gong] at home and not go out to promote Falun Gong.” This incident placed Ms. Lin’s family under a lot of pressure.
Many practitioners were arrested at the entrance of the Ma’an Road Groceries Market at 10 a.m. on August 29, 2023. Those who were arrested include Tang Yuan, Zhang Qiaoying, Ms. Huang, and 86-year-old Ms. Tang. They returned home that evening.
Elderly Ms. Xu Fengqing from Yangpu District can no longer walk, and has to be pushed around in a wheelchair by her daughter. However, residential police officers still went to her home to harass her, putting her and her family under great pressure.
