(Minghui.org) A 58-year-old Chibi City, Hubei Province, resident was tortured while serving an 8.5-year term for practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Mr. Zhou, a former employee of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, was arrested on December 26, 2018. The police interrogated him in the Yujiatou Police Station, beat him, and forced him to go through a comprehensive physical examination, which he suspected to be related to organ matching in the forced organ harvesting crimes by the communist regime.
Mr. Zhou appeared in the Wuchang District Court on December 24, 2020 and was sentenced to 8.5 years in prison with a 3,000-yuan fine on January 25, 2021. His appeal was rejected by the higher court.
Mr. Zhou was later transferred to the Fanjiatai Prison in Shayang County, Hubei Province. It was recently learned that his thumbs were severely injured, and two of his teeth fell out as the guards tried to pry open his mouth (possibly for force-feeding). Due to information censorship, other details about his torture aren’t clear. We call on the international community to pay attention to his case and ask insiders to provide information about him.
