(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 7 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Officer Wang Chao from Yumin Township Police Station and others broke into Ms. Jiang Yuzhi’s home on the morning of September 9, 2023. They found a copy of Zhuan Falun, asked Ms. Jiang to hold the book, and took pictures of her. They took Ms. Jiang to the police station, where they collected samples of Ms. Jiang’s saliva and fingerprints. They held her in a small room for several hours before releasing her.
Ms. Guo Yuanqiong from Jingyang District has been missing for over a year. She was arrested at home by officers from the Jingyang Police Station in July 2022. After she was held for 38 days, she managed to escape. She returned to Deyang City and has not been heard from since.
Ms. Xie Yuyao from Enping City was reported to the police for distributing Falun Gong materials. She was arrested and her home was ransacked on October 26, 2023. She was detained for 15 days. She has returned home.
During the 6th China International Import Expo, which was held in Shanghai between November 5 and 10, 2023, Ms. You Xiuying in the Huangpu District was followed and monitored 24 hours a day.
Mr. Zong Xunyong was a former economist at the Pei County Branch of the People’s Bank of China in Jiangsu Province. In early November 2023, when the 6th China International Import Expo was held in Shanghai, Pei County Domestic Security Division officers monitored Mr. Zong, on the grounds of maintaining social stability.
Mr. Wang Yajun from Jiutai District was arrested on July 20, 2023. He was held in the Xinglongshan Detention Center. On November 14, the Kuancheng District Court notified his family that a trial would be held on November 16. They told his family that he would be sentenced to at least three years in prison.
Guo Rongguang, in his or her 80s, was arrested by officers from the Luocheng Police Station while posting Falun Gong materials on June 21, 2023. The officers broke into Guo’s home and ransacked it. They confiscated more than 20 Falun Gong books, a computer, a video player, and amulets, among other personal items. Guo returned home at 6 p.m. that day.
