(Minghui.org) I worked as the head nurse in a municipal hospital before I retired. Before July 20, 1999, millions of people in China practiced Falun Dafa, including several nurses in our hospital. After the persecution began in July 1999, many people with a clear conscience, including some in our hospital, saw through the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) propaganda and supported and protected practitioners.
Mei, a practitioner in our hospital, traveled to Beijing at the end of 1999, to appeal the unjust way Falun Dafa was treated and she was arrested. After she was released, the hospital’s Party secretary dismissed her as the head nurse, downgrading her to the laundry room. When he instructed the head of the laundry room, Ying, to monitor and report Mei, Ying adamantly refused. Instead, she commended Mei for conscientiously performing her tasks, even doing the dirtiest and most strenuous assignments without complaint. She described how Mei hand washed the blood-stained linens before placing them in the washing machine. Ying expressed her desire for more workers like Mei.
Ying’s kindness was rewarded with her husband’s swift recovery after a serious car accident. Despite suffering a brain hemorrhage, he successfully underwent surgery and was discharged without any after-effects.
Several practitioners from our hospital and I, were arrested for practicing the Falun Dafa exercises in public in 2000. Following our release, the hospital administration stripped us of our positions and assigned us to gardening and janitorial duties. One day, Deng, another practitioner, refused to do the cleaning work as a protest against the unfair treatment. The chief of the security section was furious and reprimanded her. Dr. Wang witnessed it while passing by, and immediately rebuked the chief, “Who authorized you to treat them like that? Are they bad people?” The chief was speechless.
Dr. Wang reacted the same way when he witnessed the hospital director mistreating Mei.
Dr. Wang voluntarily withdrew from the CCP organizations he joined. In return, he has been blessed over the years, with a successful career, a filial daughter and the well-being of his parents, leading an abundant and happy life.
Deng later was arrested for exposing the CCP’s bad deeds and was sent to a detention center. Upon learning the news, the director of the hospital’s nursing department, Ning, quietly leveraged her connections to rescue Deng, without informing anyone, not even Deng's family.
The hospital management imposed night shifts in outpatient clinics across various wards as a way to punish practitioners. In consideration of practitioner Ping’s old age, Ning took the initiative to coordinate with relevant personnel to assign her to a suitable department.
Ning, her husband and many of her relatives all renounced their memberships in the CCP’s organizations. Her hemangioma on her liver disappeared shortly afterward.
My colleague Yan, a logistics administrator, is an upright person who always points out injustices, and defends others. She and her mother read Zhuan Falun and know that Falun Dafa is good.
After Deng was released from prison in 2009, she was not allowed to resume her post. One day, an administrator summoned Deng to his office with many other administrators in the room, and notified her that she could resume her post with the demotion of two pay grades. Yan loudly exclaimed, “Falun Dafa practitioners are good people! Good people have no way to make a living now!” She frequently praised Dafa and Dafa practitioners publicly.
Yan’s righteous actions were rewarded with blessings. She had advanced breast cancer a decade ago and her situation did not look good after the surgery. She miraculously recovered and now enjoys a healthy, peaceful life.
