(Minghui.org) The sixth Christmas Marketplace (Mele Kalikimaka Marketplace) was held at the exhibition hall of the Neal Blaisdell Center, Honolulu, Hawaii on December 16 and 17, 2023. More than 200 vendors showcased local foods, Hawaii-made products, gifts, books, apparel, jewelry, crafts and other goods.
Practitioners participated in the event and introduced Falun Dafa and the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance to the shoppers. They also demonstrated the five exercises on stage. When visitors heard that such a good practice is taught for free, many asked for more information and expressed an interest in learning the practice.

Practitioners distributed Minghui International and bookmarks with information about Falun Dafa. They told those who were interested in practicing that in addition to the exercises, improving one’s character to eliminate bad habits and thoughts is important. Many visitors agreed that being a good person and following the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance in daily life is important.
Many people stopped at the Falun Dafa booth over the course of the event. Some said they would share information about Dafa with their family members. Some asked for more informational materials so they could share the literature with their friends and family. Many listened to the practitioners’ explanations of Falun Dafa and learned about the practice in more detail.

Ms. Yang from China watched the video introduction to Falun Dafa attentively. A practitioner told her about her own experiences and how her health and character improved by following the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. She also told her about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution and its organ harvesting from living practitioners.
Ms. Yang quit her membership in the communist youth organization, the Young Pioneers, with her real name. She also took some informational materials and three DVDs to learn more and said she would share them with her family members.
Background: What Is Falun Dafa and Why Is the CCP Persecuting It?
Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China, in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Millions of people who have embraced the teachings, which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and have learned the five exercises, have experienced improved health and well-being.
Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), perceived the spiritual discipline’s growing popularity as a threat to the CCP’s atheistic ideology and on July 20, 1999, he issued an order to eradicate the practice.
Under Jiang’s personal direction, the CCP established the 610 Office, an extralegal security organization with the power to override the police and judicial systems and whose sole function is to carry out the persecution of Falun Dafa.
Minghui.org has confirmed the deaths of thousands of practitioners as a result of the persecution over the past 24 years, though due to the difficulty in getting information out of China, the actual number is believed to be much higher. Countless practitioners have been imprisoned and tortured for their faith.
There is concrete evidence that the CCP sanctions the harvesting of organs from detained practitioners, who are murdered to supply China’s organ transplant industry.
