(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 11 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Qin Xiujuan from Tangshan City was arrested at home by officers from the Sanjintan Police Station in the West Lake District on the afternoon of February 3, 2023. The police ransacked her home and confiscated numerous Falun Gong books and a photo of Falun Gong’s founder. Ms. Qin was taken to the detention center.
Ms. Wang Huili will be tried in the Kuiwen District Court on February 8, 2023.
Ms. Zhang and her husband were arrested by officers from the Xinjiang Police Station in the Pingfang District on February 3 or 4, 2023. A practitioner named Xu was arrested at the same time.
Mr. Gao Yu was arrested at his home by officers from the Xibinhe Police Station in the Miyun District on February 6, 2023. His three-year-old daughter was also taken to the police station.
Ms. Sun Xia was arrested at her daughter’s home by several officers from the Hanan Police Station on the evening of January 28, 2023. Her home was ransacked. Ms. Sun is currently detained in the Harbin City Detention Center.
Ms. Li Derong, in her 70s, was reported to the police for distributing truth-clarifying materials and was arrested by two officers from the Zhengyang Police Station in September 2022. The police searched her and confiscated Falun Gong literature and more than 500 yuan in paper bills imprinted with information about Falun Gong. They ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books. Ms. Li was released that evening on bail pending trial.
Mr. Tao Yawei and his wife Ms. Liu Ruiyun were arrested at her daughter’s home in Beijing on May 8, 2021. They were sentenced to prison. The couple was released at the end of 2022.
Ms. Xu Qingmei, 78, was arrested by officers from the Renli Town Police Station in December 2022. The police ransacked her home and confiscated all her Falun Gong books. She was released later that day.
