(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 14 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Xu Ping Faces Trial
2. [Macheng City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Nianhua and Ms. Bao Zhiying Arrested
3. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Kong Fanqin Sentenced to Three Years in Prison
4. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Qin Shaohua Arrested and Detained
5. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Liang Meihua and Ms. Yan Jinghua Persecuted
6. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Face Trials
7. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Chunli and Mr. Wang Guohui Detained
8. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Ruichao Arrested
9. [Haiyang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Fengxian Sentenced to Three Years and Six Months in Prison

1. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Xu Ping Faces Trial

Ms. Xu Ping, 69, was scheduled to be tried in the Shushan District Court at 9 a.m. on February 9, 2023.

2. [Macheng City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Nianhua and Ms. Bao Zhiying Arrested

Ms. Liu Nianhua and Ms. Bao Zhiying were reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong near No.2 Bridge and were arrested and taken to the Gulou Police Station on the afternoon of February 7, 2023. 

3. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Kong Fanqin Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

Ms. Kong Fanqin was sentenced to three years in prison and fined 4000 yuan by the Shulan City Court on December 30, 2022. 

4. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Qin Shaohua Arrested and Detained

Ms. Qin Shaohua was arrested at home by officers from the Furi Police Station around 6 a.m. on February 8, 2023. The police broke into her home. Ms. Qin is currently detained in the Weifang City Detention Center.

5. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Liang Meihua and Ms. Yan Jinghua Persecuted

Ms. Liang Meihua, 75, was imprisoned and made to do forced labor for a total of nearly 13 years. She was last arrested on July 18, 2020 and was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison. She will be released on March 17, 2023.

Ms. Yan Jinghua, 62, was sentenced to three years in prison in May 2006. She was again sentenced to four years and six months in September 2011. Ms. Yan was arrested again on April 13, 2018 and was sentenced to five years in prison and fined 20,000 yuan. She will be released on April 12, 2023.

6. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Face Trials

Ms. Qian Shuju, Mr. Tang Lirong and Ms. Cai Shangyu, were arrested and released on bail pending trial. They were tried in court at the end of October 2021, but no verdicts were announced. They were told they would be tried in court at the end of November 2022 but the trial was delayed. 

They were summoned to the Jingyang District Court on February 8, 2023 and were directly taken to have physical examinations. Ms. Qian Shuju and Ms. Cai Shangyu are now under official arrest. Mr. Tang Lirong was allowed to go home to make arrangements for his 85-year-old mother who was left home alone. The three practitioners face new trials.

7. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Chunli and Mr. Wang Guohui Detained

Ms. Yu Chunli and Mr. Wang Guohui were transferred from the Shangmayanye isolation center to the Pudong Detention Center on February 7, 2023.

8. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Ruichao Arrested

Mr. Li Ruichao was arrested during the 2023 Chinese New Year in early February when he was traveling. He was identified as a Falun Gong practitioner from the Big Data and was arrested. He was escorted by officers from the Zhangduangu Police Station in Wuji County and was taken to the Gaocheng District Detention Center.

9. [Haiyang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Fengxian Sentenced to Three Years and Six Months in Prison

Mr. Wang Fengxian was sentenced to three years and six months by the Haiyang City Court. He is currently detained in the Yantai Detention Center or in the Jinan Prison.
