(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 12 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Wang Lei, 57, from Dongcheng District, was arrested by officers from the Beixinqiao Police Station in early October 2022.
On February 9, 2023, Ms. Wang’s lawyer received a notice from the Dongcheng District Court that she would be tried in Courtroom 16, Floor 4, North Section of Dongcheng District Court at 10 a.m. on February 24.
Ms. Wang Jian from Bin County, an assistant communications engineer at the Harbin Railway Bureau, was arrested in July 2022 by officers from the Bin County Police Department. Due to the pandemic, she has not been tried.
Ms. Wang was recently notified by the Yilan County Court that she would be tried at 9 a.m. on February 21, 2023, via video link.
Ms. Liu Nianhua and Ms. Bao Zhiying were arrested by officers from the Gulou Police Station while clarifying the truth about Falun Gong in the Gulou area. The two practitioners are being held in the Macheng City Detention Center.
Ms. Tang Gangying and Ms. Xie Mingyu were arrested by two plainclothes officers from the Nanjinqiao Police Station at 8:30 a.m. on February 8, 2023. Ms. Xie was interrogated and held for five hours. Ms. Tang was released after she was forced to sign paperwork.
Ms. Huang Hezhu was arrested by officers from the Zhongshan Police Station, in the Chikan District, on the afternoon of February 9, 2023. She returned home safely at noon the following day.
Mr. Li Changhai from the Longtan District was arrested for posting Falun Gong truth-clarification materials on the afternoon of February 9, 2023. The police ransacked his home and confiscated nearly 100 Falun Gong books. Mr. Li has returned home.
Staff members of the Mamu Community Management Office, the residential officer, and Hanzhou Sub-district Administration Office personnel went to Ms. Li Yun’s home three times between October and December 2022 to harass her. Some of them photographed her and her home when she was not paying attention.
Ms. Kou Juying from the Guangxinyuan Residential Community, Shilipu Sub-district, was released on bail on August 20, 2022. Before Chinese New Year’s Day on January 22, 2023, officers Shi Yi and Yang Jinxiong, from the Xixian New District Police Department, said that Ms. Kou’s case was not accepted by the procuratorate, and the police did not have all the necessary paperwork to take her to the detention center.
When elderly Ms. Kou returned home after grocery shopping, the officers went to her home and harassed her.
Ms. Hu Yuexia was scheduled to be tried by the Qiaoxi District Court at 9:30 a.m. on February 14, 2023.
Mr. Dai Chuanyi, 56, was arrested on July 22, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong materials and was sentenced to five and a half years in prison. He was taken to Yuzhang Prison in Nanchang City.
In the prison, Mr. Dai was abused cruelly in multiple ways. Falun Gong practitioners were ordered to work intensively. At the end of 2022, his family was forced to pay a fine of 10,000 yuan.
Prison officials have not allowed his family to send in any food, clothes or daily necessities. Before June 2021, prison officials did not allow onsite visits by family and friends. His family could only talk to him through video sessions, which lasted only 2-3 minutes.
After September 2021, his video sessions were also restricted. It has been two and a half years, and Mr. Dai has only been able to talk to his family through video calls three or four times.
