Remembering Our Prehistoric Vows: Young Practitioners, Please Step Forward

(Minghui.org) I began Falun Dafa cultivation with my mother in March of 1999, when I was 13 years old. Before I even had a chance to finish reading Zhuan Falun once, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began persecuting Falun Dafa. 

I’d like to stress the importance of clarifying the facts as well as validating Dafa to practitioners my age. 

When my mom began Dafa cultivation, she was 39 years old. Many people around me were also around this age, or even older than that when they began cultivation. 

After Dafa was subjected to the persecution, few people dared to take up Dafa cultivation. Thus, the number of practitioners in their 30s in China are few. 

When you see people clarifying the facts on the streets, and in the supermarkets, they are mostly senior practitioners. Nowadays in Chinese society, people in either their 30s and 40s make up the largest portion of the workforce. It’s an environment full of power struggles and vanity. 

When elderly practitioners clarify the facts to people, they may give the false impression of being prone to brainwashing due to their limited education. 

Nowadays young people are seriously poisoned by atheism. They only pursue self-interest; how to make good money, and achieve a high rank in society. 

If practitioners only appear to be all older people and belonging to the low or middle class, how can we make the world’s people show the proper respect for Dafa?

Of course, there are many diligent practitioners who have a lot of confidence, and whatever they say can rectify the incorrect thoughts of regular people. It all comes down to the fact that cultivating oneself well is of utmost importance. 

Master said, 

“But in our practice, for all of us who are still part of this world, we strive to lead lives that are as normal as possible while going about our spiritual practice. And so you aren’t asked to give up anything in a material sense.” (The Fourth Talk, Zhuan Falun)

Why do we need to lead lives that are as normal as possible? I came to enlighten that on the basis of our maintaining an optimal cultivation state, ideally, we should have people feel that we are kind and normal people. When they can accept us, we then have a chance to save them. 

However, the old forces have attempted to undermine us financially and damage our reputation. They want to hinder us from validating the Fa in ordinary human society, and to have regular people not accept us, so as not to be saved. 

On the Dafa amulet that we give to people to clarify the facts, is written: “Believing in Dafa, one will have good fortune.” 

In regular people’s eyes, what’s good fortune? It means to have a good career, a harmonious family life, and wealth. 

Now, young practitioners in their 30s have their own careers. They have their own connections; they are in touch with people their own age. Thus, we should make good use of this situation to save people. 

My mother and I run a small store. One day, a senior lady came in and asked me to install a hook in her kitchen, so she could hang her sauce spoon. 

She had walked back and forth on the street to check with different stores, but no one wanted to help her as they felt the job was too small to make a profit. When she came to our store, my mom said, “Sure. Please have a seat, I’ll have my daughter and son-in-law install it for you.” 

After my husband came back from work, I went with him to the lady’s home to install it for her. She thanked us by bringing us peaches. I took the opportunity to clarify the facts to her. 

She looked at me surprisingly and said, “People have talked to me about Falun Dafa before, but they were all elderly women. I’d never expect you, being so young and well-educated, also practice Dafa? Just for that, I believe what you said. Can you show me how to do the exercises?”

This lady had swollen joints in both knees, and she wore thick knee pads all year round. As a result, she couldn’t bend her legs normally and could easily trip over a small bump on the ground. 

Because of our predestined relationship, she began Falun Dafa cultivation and took a copy of Zhuan Falun home. She consistently did the exercises, and a few months later, I saw her dancing at the Square one night. She happily told me that since she began practicing Dafa, her legs healed, and she could dance again. 

In addition, she had a hoarse voice for years, and her family suspected it to be a pre-cancerous condition. Now it was healed and her voice was no longer hoarse. Her stomach problems were also resolved. 

All of these miraculous things were totally unexpected for her. Now she often comes to my store to talk about her recent situation and insights. 

During the process of clarifying the facts, I also came across many people who were surprised that I practice Dafa at such a young age. 

One time, I clarified the facts to a young person who delivered goods. When he saw me taking out an amulet, he stared at me and said, “Do you also practice Falun Dafa? I am very surprised! I’m very surprised! I thought that only old people practice Falun Dafa!” 

In the eyes of colleagues and clients, I am young and have a successful business. The pandemic didn’t impact my business, and instead, my client base kept growing. 

I have a happy family, my parents are in good health, and both my daughter and son are smart and lovely. My family situation makes people envious. 

In the current job market, where it’s hard to find work, my practitioner husband was offered a position at a state-run enterprise. This is impossible for people even with connections. 

One client commented from the bottom of her heart that all our good fortune is a blessing from Falun Dafa. 

I understand that everything Master has given me is so I can validate the beauty of Dafa, save more people, and have worldly people all witness cases where people were blessed by having faith in Dafa. My blessings are certainly not for me to enjoy myself and show off among ordinary people.

I don’t have a lot of time to go out and clarify the truth to people face to face, so my mother and I asked for Master’s help to bring people with predestined relationships to my store, and to have them saved through our interactions. 

As such, we guarantee that we use items of good quality with competitive prices and charge reasonable labor costs, so our clients will have a good impression of us. After they’ve been through the whole process, they realize we are different from other vendors, which lays a good foundation for further clarifying the facts to them. 

Our wish is to save people. When we do things truly for the benefit of our clients, and they come to our store one after another to establish a predestined relationship with us. 

My competitors envy our successful business, but struggle to find the reason why. Amidst the pandemic, we managed to validate the beauty and extra-ordinariness of Dafa. 

I realize that some practitioners, no matter whether they do business or look for a job, behave like ordinary people. They put making money or profit first, with the outcome being just the opposite of what they hope for. 

Fellow practitioners, did you forget about your grand vow before coming to the human world? Why are we here? It is to assist Master to rectify the Fa and save sentient beings. 

Master said, 

“Clarifying the facts and saving sentient beings are what you need to accomplish. There is nothing else for you to accomplish. There is nothing else in this world that you need to accomplish.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the 2015 New York Fa Conference,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. XIII)

We live in the same way as regular people, yet our purpose is different. We only adopt a human form, but we are Dafa practitioners. 

The true purpose of our living in this world is not to enjoy a leisurely life, but to save sentient beings. We do not pursue assets or social status. However, in order to save people, we also need to possess money and social status. 

For us, it is for the sake of saving sentient beings that we need to have a successful career, and to have people feel that everything goes well for us because we practice Dafa. In other words, we should have regular people feel the beauty of Dafa being brought to the human world. 

There is a line between selfishness and altruism, and only altruism will yield good results.

If every young practitioner can step forward and use their situation to validate Dafa, this will help regular people change their biased views towards us. If every young practitioner can bring the beauty and blessings of Dafa to the world’s people, wouldn’t the evil’s lies be revealed, and wouldn’t the world’s people be easier to save?
