Additional Persecution News from China – March 20, 2023 (13 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 25 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Li Yinhuan Tried in Court

1. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Li Yinhuan Tried in Court

Mr. Li Yinhuan from Yuexiu District was arrested at home by officers from the Changxing Police Station and the Guangzhou City Police Department on January 26, 2022. He has been detained for over a year. He was tried in the Haizhu District Court on February 16, 2023.

2. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] The Case Against Ms. Qin Shaohua Submitted to the Court

Mr. Qin Songfa and his wife Ms. Xu Xiuzhen went to the police station on March 10, 2023 to ask about their daughter Ms. Qin Shaohua. They were told that her case was submitted to the procuratorate and the court.

3. [Huai’an City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhang Lihua Detained

Ms. Zhang Lihua was held in the Zhenjiang Detention Center for nine months and was released on November 27, 2022.

4. [Wuchang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhao Qingping Tried in Court

Ms. Zhao Qingping and her mother-in-law were arrested at home at 8 p.m. on July 19, 2022. Her home was ransacked. Ms. Zhao was then placed under official arrest. She was tried in the Acheng District Court, Harbin City on March 13, 2023. Her lawyer defended her innocence.

5. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Lai Shengrong Harassed

Qing Sanjiang, an officer from Sanshui Town Police Station, and some village officials went to the Sanshui Primary School to harass the daughter of Ms. Lai Shengrong, who was a teacher, on the afternoon of March 16, 2023. Then they went to Ms. Lai Shengrong’s home. They threatened her husband. After they left, Ms. Lai’s husband beat her badly and prevented her from going out.

6. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Gong Hua Detained

Ms. Gong Hua, a retiree, was arrested at home by officers from the Zhuodaoquan Police Station on March 13, 2023. Ms. Gong is being held in the No. 1 Detention Center of Wuhan City.

7. [Shiyan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Hu Ling Arrested

Ms. Hu Ling, over 60, was arrested by officers in the Zhangwan District at noon on March 8, 2023. Her home was ransacked and her computer was confiscated.

8. [Chongqing] Ms. Chen Jie Arrested

Ms. Chen Jie, 70, from Tangba Town of Tongnan District, was arrested at the Tangba Market on the morning of March 16, 2023.

9. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Fengling Arrested

Ms. Wang Fengling was followed and arrested at home on March 11, 2023 for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was fined 2,000 yuan and was released two days later.

10. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Chang Arrested and Detained

Ms. Liu Chang was arrested by several officers on March 15, 2023. Her home was ransacked. The items related to Falun Gong were confiscated. Other practitioners were arrested that day. Ms. Liu was taken to the No. 1 Detention Center of Shenyang City on March 17, 2023.

11. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhu Wanshu Arrested

Ms. Zhu Wanshu was arrested at home by officers, including Yuan Zhongxu from the Zhiping Town Police Station in Jiangjin District on March 2, 2023. Her home was ransacked. A media player and several amulets were confiscated. Ms. Zhu was released later.

12. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Chu Lanying Harassed

Ms. Chu Lanying, 83, lives in the Dufudi Community, Wuchang District. Because she talked to people about Falun Gong, she has been arrested numerous times since the CCP started to persecute Falun Gong in 1999. Ms. Chu has been constantly harassed by local community members, local police officers, and the 610 Office. Several officers from the Zhonghua Road Police Station went to her home in June 2022 and confiscated truth clarifying materials, CDs, books, calligraphy and paintings.

13. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ten Practitioners Harassed or Arrested

Ms. Zhang Suying, over 70, was arrested and taken to local police station at 10 a.m. on March 17, 2023 because she used paper bills imprinted with information about Falun Gong ten days ago. Her home was ransacked and any items related to Falun Gong were confiscated.

Ms. Chen Lianfang was arrested and taken to a local police station at 3 p.m. on March 17, 2023. Her home was ransacked. Eight other practitioners were harassed including Gong Zhijun, Chen Fengjun, Gong Shuliang, Zhang Hongju, Chen Lianfang, Zhang Suying, Duan Qiongying, and Tang Kunqiang.
