(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 3 provinces, where at least 8 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Officers with the Shanghai Railway Police Department searched Ms. Ying Yu when she was about to take a high speed railway train on April 4, 2023, and found a USB flash drive. She was detained and her home was ransacked.
Officers went to Ms. Zhou Huaxiang’s home and arrested her on April 10, 2023. Her whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Fang Jie was tried and sentenced on March 21, 2023. She has not been heard from since.
Mr. Hu Yongli was arrested on April 6, 2023.
Ms. Cui Jinfeng, in her 70s, was arrested by officers from the Boxing County Domestic Security Division in 2022 for telling people about Falun Gong. She was held in the Boxing County Detention Center and the Huimin County Detention Center. She developed severe health problems while she was detained and was taken to a hospital. Afterwards she was released.
She was later coerced many times to go to the Boxing Procuratorate and the Huimin Procuratorate , where agents tried to force her to sign a statement to renounce Falun Gong. She refused to sing. A case against her is being prepared.
Mr. Yuan Rongbao was arrested by officers from the Cuigezhuang Police Station on April 11, 2023. He is being held in the Chaoyang District Detention Center.
Ms. Meng Zhaoyu, 94, was reported to the police and arrested by three officers from the Chaoyang District when she was explaining the facts about Falun Gong to people around 8 a.m. on April 2, 2023. She was taken to a police station and interrogated from about 8 a.m. that day to about 3 a.m. the following day. Her home was ransacked and all her Falun Gong books, a video player, and other personal belongings were seized. Ms. Meng was released around 3 a.m. on April 3.
Ms. Wu Wei was reported to the police for talking about Falun Gong and distributing the article “How Humankind Came To Be” after the 2023 Chinese New Year, January 22, 2023. She was arrested by officers from the Dongba Township Police Station and agents from the Jingheyuan Residential Committee. She was released on bail for a year because of her poor health. She has been under residential surveillance since her release and monitored by agents from the residential committee, which has severely interfered with her normal life.
