(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners participated in the International Day for The Elimination of Racial Discrimination held by York Regional Police on April 1, 2023, at the Crystal Fountain Event Venue in Markham, Ontario. They told the event-goers what Falun Dafa is and why the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched the persecution of the practitioners in China on July 20, 1999. Event-goers learned that the persecution was still happening in China and that it must be stopped. Practitioners participated in this event for a few years, hoping to tell the public about the persecution.

The Falun Dafa table drew the attention of many people, some of whom learned the exercises. An officer from the York Regional Police and local Chinese stopped by the table to show their support for Falun Dafa and the practitioners’ persistent efforts to raise awareness of and end the persecution. A person invited practitioners to come and teach the exercises at his company. Some parents told practitioners that they believed that practicing Falun Dafa would help their children grow up to be better people.

A woman who said she enjoys practicing yoga came to the practitioners’ table and read the literature. She agreed with Falun Dafa’s principles and said, “This world does need Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.”
There’s a large Chinese population in the York region, and many attended the event and talked to practitioners. One of them said that she knew what happened to Falun Dafa practitioners in the brutal persecution because she had just watched a Shen Yun performance the previous day. “The performance was marvelous,” she said.
The host issued a certificate to thank the practitioners for their contribution to the event.
The York Regional Police issued a certificate to thank the practitioners for participating in the event, and letting more people in the community know about the ancient traditional Chinese practice that helps people to improve their mental health and physical wellness.
Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China, in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Millions of people who have embraced the teachings, which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and learned the five exercises, have experienced improved health and well-being.
Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), perceived the spiritual discipline’s growing popularity as a threat to the CCP’s atheistic ideology, and on July 20, 1999 he issued an order to eradicate the practice.
Under Jiang’s personal direction, the CCP established the 610 Office, an extralegal security organization with the power to override the police and judicial systems and whose sole function is to carry out the persecution of Falun Dafa.
Minghui.org has confirmed the deaths of thousands of practitioners as a result of the persecution over the past 23 years. The actual number is believed to be much higher. Countless practitioners have been imprisoned and tortured for their faith.
There is concrete evidence that the CCP sanctions the harvesting of organs from detained practitioners, who are murdered to supply China’s organ transplant industry.
