Letter from Andrew Scheer, former leader of the Conservative Party and MP for Regina—Qu'Appelle

Letter from Cathay Wagantall MP for Yorkton-Melville
In her letter, Cathay Wagantall MP wrote, “Falun Dafa practitioners and their deep commitment to the values of truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance not only enrich their own lives mentally, spiritually, and physically. They broaden Canda’s cultural landscape and provide other Canadians with opportunities to improve their wellbeing.
“I appreciated the opportunity to view the documentary, Eternal Spring, through which I garnered a better understanding of the challenges faced by those who sought and continue to seek to exercise and share their meditation in peace.
“Sadly, Beijing’s determination to silence, intimidate and abuse the community is well-known. This year also marks twenty-four years of organized, state-sanctioned persecution of Falun Dafa by the Communist Party. Coupled with widespread imprisonment, extrajudicial killings, torture, and organ harvesting, Canada has a duty to speak out in defence of Falun Dafa at home and around the world.
“Every individual has the right to believe what they choose and the freedom to practice those beliefs. This does not exclude those who adhere to the principles of Falun Dafa. In the face of persecution, practitioners continue to carry out their beliefs in peace and with dignity – it is inspiring and has earned my deep admiration.”
