(Minghui.org) Practitioners gathered at King George Square in Queensland’s city center on May 13, 2023 to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day with music and dance performances. They expressed their endless respect for Falun Dafa’s founder, Mr. Li Hongzhi, and wished him a happy birthday.
Practitioners’ World Falun Dafa Day performances attracted many people who stopped and watched.
The sun shone brightly on May 13th during the grand celebration. Practitioners demonstrated the exercises and presented dance, waist drum, and music performances. There was also a choral song performed by young practitioners. The colorful costumes and performances drew many passersby to stop and watch. Mr. Scott Buchholz, Federal MP for Wright, and other residents expressed their well wishes for World Falun Dafa Day.
People expressed their support for practitioners’ efforts to end the persecution. Some thanked practitioners for spreading the message of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance to the world.
Federal MP: Congratulations on World Falun Dafa Day
The Honorable Mr. Scott Buchholz, Federal MP for Wright, sent a letter in honor of World Falun Dafa Day.
In advance of the 2023 World Falun Dafa Day, Federal MP Mr. Scott Buchholz sent a letter of congratulations. He wrote, “It is with great pleasure that I lend my support for the 2023 World Falun Dafa Day, in Brisbane.
“As the Federal Member for Wright, I have built a stronger relationship with the Queensland Falun Dafa practitioners. Falun Dafa is a peaceful practice of spiritual health and exercise to help all practitioners maintain a healthy and peaceful life.
“I’m always happy to support their efforts to better family life, health and overall wellbeing, and to share the peaceful, health-giving nature of the practice with our broader community.”
He concluded, “I wish the Falun Dafa Association of Australia the very best with World Falun Dafa Day 2023.”
Bank Manager: Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance Can Heal the World
Mr. Graeme expressed his well wishes for World Falun Dafa Day.
Mr. Graeme is a manager who deals with finance-related matters at the Australia Commonwealth Bank. He said, “I am very happy to be able to see the brilliant performances by all of you here! Your traditional costumes are very pretty, the program is rich and the dragon and lion dances are filled with ethnic characteristics.”
He expressed his well wishes for World Falun Dafa Day and said, “Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance are very good! Especially in modern society when the world is sick and problems keep arising. Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance is no doubt a wonderful cure!”
Before he left Mr. Graeme once again thanked practitioners and wished them all the best.
Archaeologist: Falun Dafa’s Efforts to Revive Traditional Culture Deserve Respect
Mr. Vvan Manvel thanked practitioners for telling people about Falun Dafa.
Mr. Vvan Manvel is an archaeologist from Spain who recently moved to Australia. He watched the performances with great interest and remarked, “These performances are great! I did not expect there to be a performance with so many children participating. This is brilliant!”
He said that he’s seldom seen such performances and expressed his well wishes for World Falun Dafa Day, “I am engaged in archaeology,” he said. “I think that the things that are related to traditional culture are very meaningful and connotative. Many of today’s performances display traditional culture. Falun Dafa’s efforts to revive traditional culture deserve respect.”
He added, “Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance are aligned with the universal values so we should let more people know about them.” He thanked practitioners for spreading the truth and goodness of Falun Dafa to people and said that he will make use of his own social media to help spread the truth.
University Lecturer Thanks Practitioners for Spreading the Message of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance
Mr. Uzair signed the petition to support practitioners’ efforts to end the persecution.
Mr. Uzair, a university lecturer, brought his wife and two daughters to the event to watch the performances. His wife brought the children to the booth to learn how to make folded paper lotus flowers. Mr. Uzair said, “Your event is very well organized. My children really enjoyed themselves. Thanks to all of you for bringing us such a wonderful day! The children loved the dragon dance as it was shimmering with golden light, and very grand too.”
He also said, “Thank you to Falun Dafa for spreading the message of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance to the world! Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance are principles that a person should abide by under all circumstances. The world will become wonderful because of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance.”
He signed the petition to show his support for practitioners’ efforts to end the persecution and said that he’s interested in learning more about Falun Dafa.
