(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 27 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Huang Qiaoyun, 67, was arrested by officers from the Wujiashan Street Police Station in the Dongxihu District in April 2022. The day she was arrested, the officers ransacked her home around 10 a.m. They confiscated her Falun Gong books, a computer, a printer, an audio player, and printed materials. She was later released on bail.
In mid-April this year, someone called Ms. Huang and said her case had been turned over to the procuratorate. Ms. Huang is being held in the Wuhan No. 1 Detention Center in the Dongxihu District.
Ms. Jiao Shuying, 61, was arrested by the Haidian District police at her daughter’s home in the Hongfuyuan Residential Community, Changping District on April 9, 2023. They took samples of her blood against her will, took her to the Haidian District Detention Center, and officially placed her under arrest within a few days.
Ms. Jiao was arrested three days before her daughter’s baby was born. Her daughter’s family was disrupted when the police arrested her.
Ms. Li Guihua, 58, was tried in the Lianshan District Court on April 28, 2023. No family members or friends were allowed in the courtroom.
Ms. Li and Gao Zuokui were reported to the police for distributing Falun Gong materials on March 17, 2022. They were released due to the COVID pandemic. In October, the police issued warrants on the Internet for the arrest of both practitioners. Gao re-located.
On January 11, 2023, three plainclothes officers posing as community members went to Ms. Li’s daughter’s home and said they were police. The took Ms. Li to the Sierbao Town Police Station in the Lianshan District. Director Li Xiaofei and deputy director Liu Jiaming took her to the Huludao City Detention Center.
Ms. Zhan Xinyuan, 47, from the Huiyang District was arrested and taken to the local police station for posting leaflets about quitting the Chinese Community Party and its affiliated organizations in the residential community where she lives and other places.
Afterward, she was often followed by the residential police. Before Chinese New Year’s Day on February 1, 2022, her home was ransacked and she was taken to the police station.
In mid-October 2022, Ms. Zhan was arrested and taken to the Huiyang City Detention Center. In March 2023, she was tried in the Huicheng District Court, and a judgment was issued in mid-April. Ms. Zhan was sentenced to three years and six months in prison.
The Jingkou District Domestic Security Division and the Dashikou Police Station dispatched a large number of police officers to arrest seven practitioners on April 24, 2023. The practitioners are Ou Yang, 85; Shen Huiqing, 86; Yu Yunxian; Chen Meilan; Wang Guizhen; Zhang Chunhua; and Li Shouqing, 62.
Mr. Zhou Zongtang from Dashiling Township, Qinglong County, was arrested by Yanyuan Police Station officers in the Haigang District around 9 p.m. on April 26, 2023.
The next day, he was scheduled to be taken to the hospital for a physical exam. When he refused to cooperate, 12 officers handcuffed Mr. Zhou’s hands behind his back and pushed him down. Other officers tied him up and carried him to the hospital. After the exam, they took Mr. Zhou to the Qinhuangdao No. 2 Detention Center. Around 9 p.m. that evening, they took Mr. Zhou back to the hospital, carried him into a room for blood tests, and then took him back to the detention center. They said they would release him after seven days of detention.
Ms. Chen Shuling and two other practitioners were arrested on April 20, 2023. On April 22, Ms. Chen’s family received a text message that she would be detained for 15 days. All three practitioners are being held in the Zhangjiakou City Detention Center.
More than a dozen people from the Degan Police Station and the Xiangtang Community arrested Mr. Kuang Xinrong and his wife Ms. Huang Daifang at their home on the morning of April 25, 2023. The couple is being held in a detention center.
Ms. Zhang Fengcai from the Hebei District was arrested by Gulou Police Station officers in the Nankai District on the morning of March 11, 2023. They ransacked her home. Ms. Zhang has been held in custody for over a month. She is being held in the Nankai District Detention Center.
After Ms. Zhang was arrested, her non-practitioner husband panicked and suffered a stroke. Now, there is no one to take care of him.
Ms. Ma Lijuan from the Ganjingzi District was recently arrested. She is being held in the Dalian City Detention Center. Her Huangchao jewelry store on the second floor of the Jinsanjiao Flower Market was raided and closed.
Ms. Lin Ping was telling people about Falun Gong near the airport on the afternoon of April 26, 2023. A plainclothes officer saw her and took her to the airport police station. At 4 p.m. her home was ransacked. All her Falun Gong items were confiscated. She returned home at 8 p.m. that evening.
Zhao Tongqing from the Dongxinfang Police Station in the Mentougou District and Gao Ge from the Mentougou District Procuratorate went to Ms. Lu Sumin’s home and notified her that her case had been turned over to the procuratorate. They told her that she was released on bail.
On the morning of April 26, Ms. Lu submitted an application to have the case dropped. That afternoon, the procuratorate called to notify her that the prosecutors had sent her case to the Mentougou District Court.
Ms. Jiang Shu’e from Laixi City was arrested by Laixi City Domestic Security Division officers on April 28, 2018. She was 51 at the time. Her family completely lost contact with her. On October 9, 2018, the Laixi City Court secretly tried Ms. Jiang without notifying her family. She was sentenced to five years in prison.
On April 27, 2023, Ms. Jiang was released and returned home.
Seven or eight officers from the Suning County Police Department broke into the home of Mr. Ku Jingjun and his wife Ms. He Fengjin around 10 a.m. on April 25, 2023. They were wearing body cameras and recording the entire process. Some officers wanted to enter Ms. He’s bedroom, but she stopped them.
Around 9 a.m. on April 28, the officers went to the couple’s home again and arrested Mr. Ku. Around 4 p.m. that afternoon, seven or eight officers searched the couple’s home and confiscated three copies of Zhuan Falun, Falun Gong’s main book.
Ms. Chen Yufang from the Nangang District was arrested and her home was ransacked around April 21, 2023. Further details are not yet available.
Residential officer Hou Songting and two others from the Huixing Police Station in the Yubei District ransacked Ms. Yang Yingfen’s home on the morning of April 25, 2023. They threatened to sentence Ms. Yang to prison. They confiscated a copy of Zhuan Falun, an audio player, a recent writing by the founder of Falun Gong, a booklet, and paper bills worth a few dozen yuan with information about Falun Gong printed on them.
Ms. Wu Zhiping, 69, who is retired from the Nanchang Steel Factory, was persecuted for a long time. To avoid repeated harassment, she left home and went to Pingxiang City.
At the end of September 2021, Ms. Wu was arrested for telling people about Falun Gong and helping people quit the CCP by deputy head Jiang Ping of the Anyuan District Domestic Security Division in Pingxiang City. She was taken to the Bayi Police Station and held in the Pingxiang City Detention Center.
On February 24, 2022, Ms. Wu was tried in the Luxi County Court in Pingxiang City. She was sentenced to one year and six months in prison.
On March 27, 2023, Ms. Wu was released and she returned home.
