(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 23 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Seven practitioners were arrested by officers from the Dashikou Police Station on the afternoon of April 24, 2023. Most of them are in their 70s or 80s. They are Ms. Shen Huiqing, Ms. Wang Huizhen, Ms. Yu Yunxian, Ms. Ou Yang, Ms. Chen Meilan, Ms. Li Shouqing, and Ms. Zhang Chunhua. Ms. Zhang was arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong at the RT-Mart Supermarket and her home was ransacked. Her whereabouts are unknown.
Dai, over 70 years old, was arrested by the Shuangqing District police in June 2022, and his or her home was ransacked. Dai returned home in July. In early April 2023, Dai received a notice for trial scheduled on May 5, 2023.
Ms. Liu Jingxiu is being held on the sixth floor of the public security treatment section of Changchun City Hospital, which is known as the Supervision Center’s Patients Ward.
Ms. Zhang Huaqing, 70, from the Nanshan Residential Community on Jiangda Road in the Jiang’an District, was arrested at home by three officers from the Laodong Street Police Station on April 4, 2023. There is no information about where she is being held.
Zhu Airong’s family submitted an indictment to the Linzi Procuratorate on April 28, 2023. Procuratorate staff members said that Zhu was officially placed under arrest, and the case was turned over to the Zichuan Procuratorate.
Mr. Kuang Xinrong and his wife Ms. Huang Daifang were arrested on the morning of April 25, 2023. They were transferred from a lockup to a detention center. Their son and brother were not allowed to visit them.
Ms. Xiang Deyu, 90, was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong in early March 2023. The officers dragged her into a private car and took her to the Renlichang Police Station in the Hedong New District. The officers and several people from the neighborhood committee then ransacked Ms. Xiang’s home and confiscated two copies of Zhuan Falun and Hong Yin, among other items. Ms. Xiang refused to sign any paperwork. She returned home at 4 p.m.
At 6 p.m. on April 18, Ms. Xiang was eating dinner at home when people from the Zhenjiangshi Police Station and the Wencheng Street Neighborhood Committee came to harass her again. When they tried to photograph her, she stopped them.
Li Zhijie, Liu Chunjie, and Ms. Meng Qingxia from Faku County were arrested by officers from the Wutaizi Police Station on April 23, 2023. That same day, Ms. Meng was not accepted to the detention center because she failed the physical. After another medical exam the next day, the detention center admitted her. The three practitioners are now in the Shenyang City No. 1 Detention Center.
Officers from the Baigou Town Police Department and the Yihezhuang Police Station ransacked Mr. Zhang Yanqing’s home around April 17, 2023. Mr. Zhang and his wife left home, and their whereabouts are unknown. The police are still staked out near their home.
Mr. Xie Changchun from Xiangyang Town, Guanghan City, was arrested at home by Deyang City police at around 6 or 7 a.m. on March 24, 2023. He was taken to a detention center. He later developed symptoms of severe high blood pressure. He is now in the Guanghan City People’s Hospital. Several police officers are guarding him, and his family members are not allowed to visit him.
Ms. Zhang, Ms. Xin, and Ms. Xu from a residential community on No. 2 Ningguo Road in the Shinan District were arrested on April 6, 2023, by officers from the Xianggangzhonglu Police Station. The officers confiscated their Falun Gong books. Ms. Xu was released that day. Ms. Zhang was held in the Jimo Detention Center for five days, and Ms. Xin was detained for 10 days. Ms. Zhang and Ms. Xin have returned home.
Ms. Lu Guiling was repeatedly persecuted and finally left home. She was arrested in early 2003 and taken to Rongcheng Brainwashing Center by Liu Jie, head of the Weihai City 610 Office.
In June 2003, Ms. Lu was sentenced to 19 years in prison by the Huancui District Court. Even though she was extremely weak, she was taken to and held in the Shandong Province Women’s Prison. When Ms. Lu went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution, she was brutally force-fed. Her condition further deteriorated, and her weight fell from about 143 pounds to less than 70.
Her prison term should have ended in February 2022, but she is still in prison. Her family has not heard from her since September 2022. Prison officials do not allow Ms. Lu to make phone calls or allow her family to visit her. It was reported that, due to the extreme abuse, Ms. Lu’s hair has turned gray, all her teeth have fallen out, and her heart, lungs, and other organs are failing.
