New York: Practitioners Raise Awareness of Falun Dafa at the 75th Tulip Festival in Albany

(Minghui.org) The 75^th Tulip Festival was held in Washington Park in Albany, New York, on May 13-14, 2023. Falun Dafa practitioners were invited to participate in Albany’s signature spring celebration event. The festival is one of the largest events in the eastern United States. More than 140,000 tulips in 150 different varieties were showcased. Many people came with their families and friends to enjoy the fine arts show and delicious food while immersing themselves in the fields of tulips.

Falun Dafa practitioners set up an information booth to teach passersby Falun Dafa’s five sets of exercises and raise awareness about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) ongoing persecution.

Endless streams of people came to learn about Falun Dafa at the 75^th annual Tulip Festival in Albany, New York, on May 13-14, 2023.

May 13^th was World Falun Dafa Day and the birthday of Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa, and May 14^th was Mother’s Day. Practitioners came early to set up the booth. Some practitioners demonstrated Falun Dafa’s five sets of exercises, while others clarified the truth and distributed truth-clarification flyers. Endless streams of people came to learn about Falun Dafa and many signed the petition to support practitioners’ efforts to end the persecution.

An elderly man came with a walker and signed the petition without any hesitation. He said he has always followed news about the CCP and could not understand why human rights issues were getting worse in China. A practitioner told him about the CCP’s ongoing persecution of Falun Dafa and gave him a copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. The elderly man said he would read it.

Another man was interested in Chinese culture but had never heard of Falun Dafa or the persecution. He signed the petition to support practitioners’ efforts to end the persecution after learning about the CCP’s human rights atrocities.

A young couple passed by the Falun Dafa booth. The lady inquired about Falun Dafa. The man listened quietly on the side and walked over to the petition and signed his name. His wife was proud of him and the man said in Chinese, “Thank you!”

Many people liked the intricate lotus flowers with the nine special words, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” Two nurses happily accepted the lotus flowers and recited the special words in Chinese with a practitioner.

Another man said that he had received a Falun Dafa flyer in the past and had researched the CCP’s crimes of persecuting Falun Dafa.

Many people, including a retired State representative, came to learn about Falun Dafa. Some learned to practice the exercises on the spot and said they felt great after practicing. Several people stated that they would head over to a local Falun Dafa group exercise site.
