(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 22 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Wulian County, Shandong Province] Five Practitioners Face Second Trial

The Wulian County Court was scheduled to hold a hearing for Ms. Li Fengying, Ms. Zheng Yunmei, Ms. Wang Shihua, Mr. Wang Hongwu and Ms. Yang Mingzhen for the second time at 10 a.m. on May 8, 2023.

2. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Youqin Arrested; Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Zhang Youqin was reported to police for talking about Falun Gong and was arrested by officers from the local police station on May 1, 2023. It’s not known where she is being held.

3. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Cao Jinhua Held for 15 Days

Ms. Cao Jinhua from Yaoergou Village and Ms. Zhou Yumei from Liangzhuang Village were reported to police when they distributed informational materials about Falun Gong in a neighboring village in mid-March 2023. They were arrested by officers from the County Domestic Security Division and the Shanfangbao Police Station. Police ransacked Ms. Cao’s home and forced her husband to sign a statement promising that she would no longer go out to distribute materials about Falun Gong. Ms. Cao was released that day.

However, officers from the Shanfangbao Police Station tricked Ms. Cao into going to the police station to have a chat on April 25. Ms. Cao went but did not return. Her family inquired about her whereabouts through various channels. That evening they learned that Ms. Cao had been taken to Zhangjiakou City and would be held for 15 days.

4. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Wang Xianghua Still Held by Police

Ms. Wang Xianghua was reported to police for explaining the facts about Falun Gong to people around April 27, 2023. She was arrested by officers from the Chengjiang Police Station. She has been held for almost 10 days.

5. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Mr. He Shiguo Arrested

Ms. He Shiguo was arrested while driving a taxi cab on April 29, 2023, by officers from the Handan Domestic Security Division and the Yongnian Domestic Security Division. Officers searched his home and seized a computer and a printer, among other items.

6. [Xichang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yin Fazhen Harassed

Agents, including village Party secretary Liu Li and village production team lead Ma Gongxing, went to Ms. Yin Fazhen’s home in 2023 to force Ms. Yin and her daughter-in-law to sign statements to renounce Falun Gong. They also photographed them.

7. [Gejiu City, Yunnan Province] Multiple Practitioners Arrested and Sentenced

Practitioners including Ms. Li Yanzhu, Ms. Li Juhua, Ms. Shen Shaoqing, Mr. Yao Hanlin, Ms. Wang Yuzhong and Ms. Yang Wenyun, were arrested one after another over a year’s time for talking about Falun Gong. They were arrested by agents from the Gejiu City 610 Office, the Gejiu City Political and Legal Affairs Committee and the Gejiu City Domestic Security Division. Ms. Li Juhua was released. Other practitioners were imprisoned or sentenced.

8. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Gao Xiuzhi and Ms. Li Shujun Held for Three Days

Ms. Gao Xiuzhi and Ms. Li Shujun from Yangmazhuang Township, Yongqing County, were held for 3 days. They have now been released.

9. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Cases Against Ms. Li Dongying and Ms. Fan Juming Submitted to Procuratorate

The cases against Ms. Li Dongying and Ms. Fan Juming have been submitted to the procuratorate.

10. [Tieling City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Qingxiang’s Three-Year-Term Will Be Over on May 10

Ms. Liu Qingxiang’s three-year-term will be over on May 10, 2023.

11. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Police Continue to Watch Ms. Yuan Hongying

Five or six officers from the Longsha District Police Department plan to arrest Ms. Yuan Hongying and have been staying near the building she lives.
