(Minghui.org) My mother-in-law became a widow in her 40s. She raised her four children all by herself. Years of hard work took a toll on her. She developed all kinds of health problems. She had cataract surgery in 1997 and her health continued to decline over the years.
In the winter of 2010, my mother-in-law suddenly lost her vision. The doctor suggested she have surgery, but he could not guarantee it would be successful. The surgery would cost at least 3,000 yuan, which she could barely afford.
My son immediately went to visit her when he heard about her condition. Having practiced Falun Dafa since he was a child and benefiting from its healing power, he urged his grandma to recite the auspicious phrases “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” He told her that she would be blessed if she did this sincerely. She could also save her money and avoid the suffering of surgery.
In fact, in 2003 my son had suggested to his grandma that she practice Falun Dafa, but she wasn’t receptive to it back then. This time, after she lost her vision, she finally agreed to give it a try.
My son stayed with her for three days. He encouraged her to recite the phrases whenever she could. A few days after my son returned home, my sister-in-law, who lived with my mother-in-law, called us. She told us that her mother could now see some light! We were all happy for her and encouraged her to continue reciting the Falun Dafa phrases.
Several days later, my sister-in-law called again and told us that her mother was able to see the pictures on the wall. She went outside and was excited to see everything as usual! She was wild with joy, “Thank you, Master Li! Thank you! Falun Dafa is truly good!”
She walked through the whole village. Her neighbors asked her if she’d had the eye surgery. She told them that she didn’t spend a penny on the surgery but recovered simply by reciting “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”
Some in the village commented, “Falun Dafa is truly good! No wonder nobody wants to give up the practice, even though the Chinese Communist Party persecutes it.”
