Saved by Falun Dafa’s Master, an Elderly Man Sheds Tears of Gratitude

(Minghui.org) On April 18, 2023, I saw Master’s latest writing “Why Save Sentient Beings” published in major media outlets. The first line caught my eye and moved my heart.

“Why does the Creator wish to save sentient beings? Because He loves all beings! Because He’s the one who has given life to all sentient beings.” (“Why Save Sentient Beings,” Team Blue Translation)

Scenes of how Master has loved and saved me time and again in the past flashed before my eyes. I was moved to tears, unable to regain my composure for a long time.

My conscience and past experiences are a testament to an irrefutable truth: Because of his love for sentient beings, Master continues to devote his life to saving everyone. I am but one life. Only Master, whose love encompasses the universe, could cherish the world and its sentient beings to such an extent!

I started practicing Falun Dafa on May 13, 1997. I used to suffer a multitude of health problems that defied modern medicine. These included cerebral arteriosclerosis, cataracts in both eyes, vitreous opacity, inflammation of the retina, cervical spine bone spurs, lumbar spine compression fractures, renal cysts, and eczema on both legs. My health further worsened in the summer of 1996, when I was diagnosed with heart disease, arrhythmia, and atrophic erosive gastritis. Major provincial and city hospitals struggled to treat me, as I helplessly suffered in pain.

Just as I was prepared to surrender all hope, my child’s father-in-law, a Falun Dafa practitioner, heard about my condition and began to encourage me to take up the practice. Even though he was over 80 years old, he would travel over 150 miles roundtrip by bicycle to visit me. When he returned home, he had to carry his bicycle up five flights of stairs. I was only 63 then and already in poorer health than he was. Convinced, I followed his advice.

On May 13, 1997, my child’s father-in-law accompanied me and my wife to a Falun Dafa experience-sharing conference that was being held in honor of Master’s birthday at the local school auditorium. I sat near the back door because I had to use the restroom a lot due to my benign prostatic hyperplasia and ulcerative colitis. When they began to play a video of Master lecturing, I was amazed to see Master’s kind, bright, and benevolent eyes looking me over with concern, as though he was personally teaching me the Fa. The more I listened, the more energized I felt. Throughout the session, I felt no urge to visit the toilet, and my chronic benign prostatic hyperplasia and ulcerative colitis disappeared! Within a month, the rest of my ailments vanished on their own. Master saved me and granted me a second life.

At the time, I failed to wonder why Master had personally taught me the Fa and saved my life. Today, while reading “Why Save Sentient Beings,” I finally realized my close kinship with Master in a previous lifetime. When he saw his relative sitting before him suffering from serious illness karma while listening to the Fa, Master gave me his special attention and quickly cured me.

It has been 26 years since 1997, and I have yet to take a single pill or injection. I am in my 90s, and Dafa continues to prolong my life and protect me, all because Master sees me as a close family member. In order to “... help people meet the requirements by the divine at the onset of salvation...” (“Why Save Sentient Beings,” Team Blue Translation), Master sacrificed himself for this world!

As a man living in ordinary human society, I’ve cried only a few times in my life. Yet, each time I read Master’s latest article, I have been moved to weep and even cry aloud. I could not understand why until I discovered the meaning behind this line. “He also used His divine body to resolve and eliminate the sins and karma of all beings! To save sentient beings, He has given all He has.” (“Why Save Sentient Beings,” Team Blue Translation)

In the past, I killed and committed other crimes. Because of my sinful karma, I developed many chronic diseases. It was Master who gave everything to save me, eliminating my karma and making my ailments disappear. This unconscious understanding of Master’s sacrifice and holy grace triggered my unending tears of gratitude.

Master saved me, not expecting anything in return. His only requirement is for practitioners to do the three things well. I am determined to continue “... cultivating as if you were just starting ...” (“Fa Teaching Given at the 2009 Greater New York International Fa Conference,” Collected Teachings Given Around the World Volume IX), and save more sentient beings. I plan to concentrate my efforts on distributing both of Master’s latest articles to more people so more can be saved. Only in this way can I be worthy of Master’s love!
