(Minghui.org) A 65-year-old man was fired by his employer after he refused to sign a document as ordered by a local 610 Office.
The 610 Office is an extra-legal agency specifically created by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to persecute Falun Gong, a mind-body practice based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The agency has branches at every government level.
Mr. Shan Yuqi, 65, of Biguo Town, Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province, began to practice Falun Gong in 1997 and soon saw his illnesses disappear. After the CCP began to persecute Falun Gong in July 1999, he was repeatedly arrested and harassed by the Biguo Town 610 Office.
On December 16, 2021, Jin Guangyao, head of the Biguo Town 610 Office, and three officers from Shengquan Police Station in the Laishan District, Yantai City, Shandong Province, descended on the Aioute Group, where Mr. Shan worked. They pressured the company to fire him and evict him from the workers’ dormitory, citing the criminal complaint that he filed eight years ago against former CCP leader Jiang Zemin for ordering the persecution of Falun Gong. They also ordered Mr. Shan to sign a document saying he’d be a law-abiding citizen and not practice Falun Gong.
Mr. Shan firmly refused to comply, and his company fired him that day. After that, the 610 Office still kept calling him to harass him. They also called his child’s employer numerous times to harass them. Mr. Shan’s child had to resign as a result.
Mr. Shan now makes a living by collecting and selling trash.
