Additional Persecution News from China – June 24 2023 (10 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 23 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

5. [Puning City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhao Dexiu and Ms. Wu Jinmei Detained
6. [Fuyu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xu Hui Arrested
7. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xue Guilan’s Pension Suspended
8. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Huang Hezhi Released, Ms. Han Cuiqin’s Situation Unknown

1. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Zixia Arrested

Ms. Liu Zixia of Taian County was followed and arrested around June 20, 2023 after she used money with Falun Gong messages printed on it to buy a ticket to Shenyang City in a railway station. Her home was ransacked.

2. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Pan Zhengfan and Ms. Wang Fengli May Have Been Sentenced

Mr. Pan Zhengfan and his wife Ms. Wang Fengli may have been sentenced after the Fengman District Court started the legal process last year.

3. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Three Practitioners Incarcerated in Hohhot

Ms. Hu Ruizi and two other practitioners from Ongniud Banner have been incarcerated in the Hohhot City Women’s Prison since March or April 2023.

4. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Yan Shanwei Formally Arrested

Mr. Yan Shanwei was formally arrested after the Wanli Police Station submitted his case to the procuratorate.

5. [Puning City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhao Dexiu and Ms. Wu Jinmei Detained

Ms. Zhao Dexiu was arrested at her home by officers from the Chengdong Police Station on June 19, 2023. Ms. Wu Jinmei was also arrested at her home by officers from the Chengdong Police Station. Both practitioners are held in the Puning City Detention Center.

6. [Fuyu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xu Hui Arrested

Ms. Xu Hui, 62, a retired teacher from the Dalinzi Town Middle School, was arrested by director Yao and others from the local police station on June 6, 2023. The officers seized her Falun Gong books, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, and cards with Falun Gong messages. She was taken to the Fuyu City Police Department.

Ms. Xu was forced to take a physical exam the next day. Her blood pressure was over 200 mm-Hg. She was taken to a detention center, but the guards refused to admit her because of her high blood pressure. She was released to her daughter. An officer from the police department called her daughter four days later, and they tried to arrest her again.

7. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xue Guilan’s Pension Suspended

Ms. Xue Guilan, 78, was arrested by Jinzhou City Police Department officers on August 15, 2021. She was held in the Jinzhou City Women’s Detention Center. The Jinzhou Social Security staff stopped her pension when she was detained.

8. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Huang Hezhi Released, Ms. Han Cuiqin’s Situation Unknown

Ms. Huang Hezhi and Ms. Han Cuiqin were arrested by Nanjie Police Station officers on June 4, 2023 after someone reported them. Ms. Huang was released after she was detained for ten days. Ms. Han’s situation is unknown.

9. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Nine Practitioners Sentenced

More than 20 practitioners and their families from the Shengli Oil Field were arrested on April 23, 2021 by officers from the Binhai Police Department. Nine have been sentenced.

Mr. Zhou Deyong was tried three times in two years by the Dongying District Court. He was sentenced to eight years in prison and fined 100,000 yuan on April 22, 2023. He has appealed.

Ms. Liu Yanmei was sentenced to seven years in prison and fined 50,000 yuan.

Meng Fanyun, gender unknown, was sentenced to two years and two months in prison and fined 20,000 yuan.

Ms. Han Dan was sentenced to 20 months in prison and fined 10,000 yuan.

Ms. Li Xuerong was sentenced to two years in prison and fined 20,000 yuan.

Ms. Guo Yunfang was sentenced to 18 months in prison, two years of probation, and fined 100,000 yuan.

Mr. Guo Hongyan was sentenced to three and a half years in prison and fined 20,000 yuan.

Ms. Chen Xiaohong was sentenced to three and a half years in prison and fined 20,000 yuan.

Mr. He Baiqing was sentenced to two years in prison.

When Mr. Guo and Ms. Chen appealed to the Dongying City Intermediate Court, the court rushed their cases and affirmed the lower court’s decision.

10. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Mr. Tian Shujun Sent to Jidong Prison

Mr. Tian Shujun, 65, was sentenced to seven and a half years by the Funing District Court in April 2023. He was transferred to the Jidong No. 4 Prison in early June 2023 and is currently held in the First Ward. Prior to his latest sentencing, he served two labor camp terms for a total of four years.
