(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 14 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Wu Jinmei was reported to the police and was arrested by officers from the Chengbei Police Station on June 19, 2023. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated numerous Falun Gong books. She is being held in the Meitang Detention Center.
Ms. Ning Changzhi from Mengzhangzi Hamlet, Pengzhangzi Village, Leijiadian Township, Jianchang County, was reported to the police while talking to people about Falun Gong. She was arrested by officers from the Leijiadian Township Police Station on May 24, 2023, and is being held in the Huludao City Detention Center.
The case against Ms. Kou Juying, in her 70s, who lives in the Guangxinyuan Residential Community, Shilipu Sub-district, was transferred from the Chang’an District to the Baqiao District Procuratorate. She will be tried in the Baqiao District Court.
Ms. Liu Chunxia from Huyi District was officially placed under arrest by the Huyi District Procuratorate on June 13, 2023.
Mr. Wang Zhong was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong. Domestic Security Division head Li Lin brought four people to ransack Mr. Wang’s home on the morning of May 4, 2023.
Mr. Dou Hexin was arrested by officers from the Shuiquliu Police Station on June 7, 2023. He was detained for 15 days. He returned home on June 21.
Mr. Zheng Jianhua from Lanling Town, Shuangcheng District, was arrested by officers from the Shanhou Township Police Station in Bayan County on the afternoon of May 25, 2023. The officers body-searched him and took his national ID card. Director Zhang Rui repeatedly beat Mr. Zheng with a water bottle.
On May 26, Mr. Zheng was taken to the Bayan County Detention Center. He returned home on June 10.
Mr. Wang Shirong, in his 60s, from Wujia Town, Shuangcheng District, Harbin City, was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of May 25, 2023.
He was arrested by officers from the Shanhou Township Police Station in Bayan County. Mr. Wang refused to disclose his personal information, and was brutally beaten by police station director Zhang Rui. The left side of Mr. Wang’s face, including his forehead and eye socket were swollen. There was a big lump on the back of his head, and half of his clothes were torn off.
On May 26, Mr. Wang was taken to the Harbin City Detention Center. He returned home on June 10.
Mr. Xia Mingyuan from Banan District was seen by surveillance cameras when he distributed information about Falun Gong. Someone also reported him to the police. Officers from the Longzhouwan Police Station arrested him and questioned him while taking notes. Mr. Xia was detained for five days on May 9, 2023. After returning home, residential committee personnel went to his home and pressured him to sign the three statements [to stop practicing Falun Gong].
Mr. Du Changjiang was arrested on June 21, 2023, by two Xinli Township Police Station officers, who were following the Yushu City Domestic Security Division’s orders. The two officers ransacked his home and confiscated his cell phone. Mr. Du was detained for 10 days.
Police officers stayed around and monitored Ms. Wang Dandan’s home on the afternoon of June 20, 2023. On the afternoon of June 21, when no one was at Ms. Wang’s home, officers from the Haizhou District Police Department called in a locksmith to break into her home and then they ransacked the place.
Mr. Mao Xianglin was taken to a brainwashing center on July 14, 2022. He was released after he developed serious illness symptoms. Around October 10, 2022, Mr. Mao was coerced by the local police station into going to the Hanyang District Brainwashing Center, where he has since been held.
Mr. Mao’s wife Ms. Guo Yuehong was arrested on July 13, 2022, after distributing Falun Gong materials at a defense industry factory in Hanyang District on May 14. She has since been held in a detention center.
From June 2 to June 15, 2023, Party secretary Zhang Hu, Hu Jianguo, and others from the Yucha Community in Yunlong Town, Jianyang City, called and harassed Ms. Zhong Fangqiong’s younger brother and son several times, asking them where she was. They threatened her younger brother and her son and said she is not allowed to live with them. They demanded that they bring Ms. Zhong back to her hometown.
On June 15, they called Ms. Zhong’s son again, saying that they would go to Chengdu in person on June 16. They demanded that Ms. Zhong and her son go to Chengdu to meet with them. On June 16, Ms. Zhong’s son went to Chengdu alone. Liu Jia, director of the Comprehensive Management Office of Yunlong Town, told him that his mother was required to make video calls with them every day.
In order to avoid the persecution and harassment of her family, Ms. Zhong cannot stay at her younger brother’s home, nor can she stay at her son’s home.
