(Minghui.org) It was recently confirmed that a resident of Zunyi City, Guizhou Province was tortured to paralysis while serving time for her faith in Falun Gong, a mind-body practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since July 1999.
Ms. Liu Shuling’s ordeal stemmed from a raid of her home on October 30, 2019. Seven officers from the Changzheng Police Station and one fellow villager broke into her home at 4 p.m. that day and confiscated all of her printing equipment and supplies, which they suspected she used to produce materials that exposed the persecution of Falun Gong.
While the police didn’t arrest her after the home raid, they returned to harass her many times afterwards, and eventually arrested her around late April or early May 2021.
Ms. Liu was held at the Zunyin City Second Detention Center before being transferred to the Guizhou Province First Women’s Prison (also known as Yang’ai Women’s Prison, located in the capital city of Guiyang) to serve a possible six-year term. Her exact prison sentence remains to be investigated.
Ms. Liu’s loved ones are calling on people who knew about her prosecution and/or imprisonment to provide more information.
