(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 52 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Shanghai] Li Hong Faces Trial
Li Hong will be tried in court at 2:30 p.m. on July 28, 2023.
2. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Seven Practitioners Arrested
Seven practitioners were arrested at 5 p.m. on July 24, 2023. They are Ms. Sun Yuhua, Ms. Wang Wenqin, Sun Li, Mr. Wang Xuebin, Ms. Liu Shuhua, Ms. Lin Jinxiu, and Zang Yunchun. Their homes were ransacked.
3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Six Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Liu Yufen from Jiutai District was arrested at home by officers from the Tumenling Police Station in the Jiutai District at 7 a.m., July 21, 2023.
Four people went to Ms. Wang Zhijie’s home in the Jiutai District on July 21, 2023. Ms. Wang was not there, as she stays away from home to avoid the persecution.
Lang Zhongming is missing and was probably arrested.
Six practitioners in the Jiutai District were arrested on July 21, 2023.
4. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Practitioners Zeng and Yun Arrested
Practitioners Zeng and Yun were followed by plainclothes officers after talking to people about Falun Gong at a farmer's market and were arrested on the morning of July 18, 2023. They were taken to the Jiefu Road Police Station. Zeng was released later that day. Yun was placed under 15-day detention and was sent to the Yongxing Detention Center. Yun’s home was ransacked.
5. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Seven Practitioners Arrested
Many practitioners were arrested by officers from multiple police stations including the Longhua Road Police Station and the Donghu Police Station. Seven practitioners were identified and include Ms. Tian Guiqing, Cui Duofan, Ms. Wang Shuling, Ms. Shi Shufang, Ms. Yu Shufang, Mr. Ma, and Mr. Tian. The police ransacked the practitioners’ homes and confiscated their printers, computers, Falun Gong books, photos of Falun Gong's founder, and other items. The practitioners were fined and were released on bail pending trial.
6. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Huaxiu Arrested
Ms. Chen Huaxiu was arrested at home by officers from the Jiahe Police Station on the morning of July 19, 2023. She was taken to the police station for interrogation and was released at noon.
7. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] Ms. Hu Hui Arrested and Detained
Ms. Hu Hui from Xingtai City went to take care of her mother-in-law in Nangong City. She was arrested in Nangong City on the morning of July 17, 2023. Her home in Xingtai City was ransacked. Ms. Hu is held in the Xingtai City Detention Center.
8. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Keliang Arrested
Mr. Zhang Keliang was arrested at home by officers from the Wenjia Police Station on the morning of July 26, 2023. He was taken to the police station and was released that evening.
9. [Siping City, Jilin Province] Ms. An Shuyun Arrested and Detained
Ms. An Shuyun was followed by police when she distributed information about Falun Gong and was arrested on July 14 or 15, 2023. She was sent to the Pingdong Detention House.
10. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Tian Biying Arrested and Detained
Ms. Tian Biying, 56, was arrested at home by officers from the Jiefuqiao Police Station on the morning of July 13, 2023 for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was detained for 12 days in the Suining City Detention House and has been released.
11. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Luo Meilin Arrested
Ms. Luo Meilin, over 50, was arrested by several plainclothes officers when she walked in Xianmu Garden around 8 a.m. on July 20, 2023. She was handcuffed and taken away in a police car.
12. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Yaying Arrested and Detained
Ms. Li Yaying was arrested at home by officers from the Helong Police Station and the Zhenlai District Police Department on the afternoon of July 2, 2023. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, her cell phone, and other items. Ms. Li was sent to the Baicheng Detention Center.
13. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Four Practitioners Arrested or Harassed
Ms. Gong Lijuan was arrested by officers in Hongshan District in early July 2023 and was sent to the Hongshan District Detention House. Her home was ransacked and her Falun Gong books were confiscated.
Three practitioners from Hongshan District, Ms. Zhang, Ms. Feng and Ms. Li, were harassed at home in July 2023 and were pressured to stop practicing Falun Gong.
14. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Hong Guimei Arrested
Ms. Hong Guimei, in her 70s, was arrested by officers in Hongshan District on July 26, 2023. She was taken to the Changqinghuayuan Police Station in the Dongxihu District.
Ms. Hong has been arrested seven times since 2013. Her husband Mr. Dou Yansheng has been detained for nearly two years. Ms. Hong left home and was recently arrested again.
15. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Zhou Zhongwen Arrested and Detained
Zhou Zhongwen was arrested at home in Xiaotao Village, Huangqibao Town, Fangzi District on the evening of July 19, 2023. The police ransacked Zhou’s home and took Zhou to the Weifang City Detention Center.
16. [Chongqing] Three Practitioners Arrested
Three practitioners from Dadu District, Ms. Liu Zhirong, Ms. Li Suzhen and Lei Xingmin, were arrested at their homes on June 30, 2023 and were taken to the Shiyou Road Police Station for interrogation. They were released in the afternoon.
17. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Huang Ying Arrested
Ms. Huang Ying was arrested at home by officers including Guo Zhenting from the Shou’an Town Police Station in Pujiang County at noon on July 14, 2023. The police ransacked her home and confiscated an article written by Falun Gong's founder. Ms. Huang was taken to the police station and was released at 4 p.m. Officer Guo Zhenting went to her home to harass her again the next day. Ms. Huang was not there.
18. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Litao and Ms. An Hongmei Sentenced to Prison
The cases against Ms. Wang Litao and Ms. An Hongmei from the Dalian Development Zone were filed with the procuratorate by the Wanli Police Station. Ms. Wang Litao was sentenced to two years in prison and fined 5,000 yuan. Ms. An Hongmei was sentenced to three years (to be served outside prison) and fined 7,000 yuan.
19. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Five plainclothes officers from the Shangshui County Police Department went to a study site in a residential building in Huanghe Road and arrested three young practitioners, Ms. Kong Aiqin, Ms. Wu Airong, and Ms. Luan Xiulan, at 5:30 p.m. on July 19, 2023. The police ransacked the place and confiscated multiple Falun Gong books and photos of Falun Gong's founder. The police also went to Ms. Wu Airong’s home and confiscated her computer, printer and truth-clarifying materials. Ms. Wu is currently held in the Shangshui County Detention Center.
20. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang] Ms. Liu Chunjing Released After Being Detained Four Years
Ms. Liu Chunjing from Huanan County was detained for four years and was released on July 2, 2023. She has been constantly harassed by local officers and community staff members since she returned home.
21. [Rongcheng City, Shandong Province] Sun Youying Arrested
Sun Youying, 74, was arrested by plainclothes officers when talking to people about Falun Gong at Yatou Market on July 25, 2023 and was taken to the Rongcheng City Detention House. Sun was released later that day.
