(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ding Yuande in China was officially arrested on July 20, 2023, according to his son Ding Lebin, a practitioner who lives in Germany. The Donggang District Police Department in Rizhao City, Shandong Province, issued the order.
Mr. Ding Yuande has been illegally detained by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) since May 12, 2023. In the past two months, Mr. Ding Lebin has traveled to all over to appeal to the international community to stop the CCP from persecuting his father and other Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) practitioners in China.
To date, officials from the European Parliament, the German Parliament, and the Berlin State Assembly, as well as members of the parliaments of Belgium and the Czech Republic, have written to Wu Ken, the Chinese ambassador to Germany, called and sent letters to those responsible, demanding that the persecution of Ding Lebin’s father cease. Many people have demanded that the CCP release him immediately and unconditionally.
The Falun Dafa Association in Germany and the Falun Dafa Information Center launched a postcard rescue operation and a letter marathon rescue operation. All one has to do is print out the rescue postcard or letter, sign it, and send it to the Chinese ambassador to Germany or the secretary of the Rizhao Municipal CCP Committee.

Mr. Ding Lebin recently participated in a rally held by Falun Gong practitioners in the Czech Republic to peacefully protest the CCP’s 24-year-long persecution. Several Czech media reported in depth on the rally and the plight of Ding Lebin’s parents.
Every year, the CCP arrests numerous practitioners around World Falun Dafa Day, May 13. This year, more than 40 practitioners were arrested in Rizhao City, Shandong Province. The action was ordered by the Shandong Provincial Department, according to Minghui.org. Those who participated in the arrests and whose names were confirmed included Wang Meifeng and Chen Dehua from the 610 Office. Some officers said they planned to arrest 70 practitioners in a month.
Those who are directly responsible for this large-scale arrest of practitioners in Rizhao City include: Ding Zhaofu, Political commissar of the Donggang Police Department; Wang Wensong, director of the Donggang Police Department; Qin Yujing, deputy head of the Domestic Security Division of the Donggang Police Department; and Li Jiang, director of Wulian County Police Department.
Mr. Ding Yuande and his wife Ms. Ma Ruimei were arrested on May 12, 2023. Ms. Ma was released on bail pending trial on May 24 but was placed under secret surveillance. Mr. Ding was held in the Rizhao City Detention Center. His family has not been able to see him since the arrest.
On June 14, two police officers went to Ms. Ma Ruimei’s home to intimidate her, showing her relevant reports they found on Minghui.org and The Epoch Times, as well as a letter to Zhang Hui, the secretary of the Rizhao Municipal CCP Committee, urging her to stop persecuting Ms. Ma and her husband immediately. They threatened Ms. Ma Ruimei that they would sentence her husband to prison because her son, Ding Lebin, had exposed their crimes overseas.
The reaction of the police shows that they know their actions are illegal, and they are especially afraid that the international community will find out what they are doing.
After Mr. Ding Yuande was officially arrested on July 20, the Donggang District Police Department and the Procuratorate attempted to continue to frame and prosecute him.

Bitter Winter, an online magazine headquartered in Turin, Italy, published a special report on Mr. Ding Lebin’s parents. The magazine focuses on religious freedom and human rights.
The author wrote that all cases of human rights persecution are similar, yet they are all unique. Their dynamics and the pain of the victims are similar, but they are also unique, not only because the details and circumstances are markedly different, but also because those being persecuted are not just a number. They are all real and all irreplaceable. That is why when one person suffers, all humanity suffers.
