(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 31 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Three Practitioners Taken to Prison
Mr. Zeng Xingyang was taken to Sihui Prison in Guangdong Province in early April 2023. Ms. Deng Fang and Ms. Zeng Yueling have also been taken to Guangdong Province Women’s Prison.
2. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Jiwu Taken to Prison
Mr. Wang Jiwu from Gongchenghao Village, Handian Town, Shuangcheng District was sentenced to four and a half years in prison on July 21, 2023. He was taken to Hulan Prison around 6 a.m. that morning.
3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Tong Renhua Held in Detention Center
Mr. Tong Renhua, who lives in Qikai District, was arrested by officers from the Chuangye Street Police Station on July 8, 2023, when he was distributing Falun Gong materials. His home was ransacked and the Falun Gong materials were confiscated. He is currently being held in the Changchun Public Security Supervision Center, also known as the Weizigou Detention Center. It was reported that he was officially placed under arrest by the Qikai District Procuratorate and deprived of the right to meet with his lawyer.
4. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Hu Yan Faces Trial
Ms. Hu Yan will be tried by the Zibo City Court on September 27, 2023.
5. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Arrested
Jiang Jie, Liu Liying, Wang Yajun, and Wang Yingjie were arrested and their homes were ransacked by the Jiutai District police on July 21, 2023. Wang Guofen’s whereabouts are unknown.
6. [Tumen City, Jilin Province] Several Practitioners Arrested
Officers from the Tumen City Domestic Security Division and residential police officers arrested local practitioners between July 20 and 21. It was reported that several practitioners have been arrested.
The police were staked outside Ms. Jiang Shuzhi’s home all night. On the morning of July 21, they arrested her and her non-practitioner husband, and then ransacked their home.
A male practitioner of Korean ethnicity who ran a meat shop was also arrested.
7. [Yingtan City, Jiangxi Province] The Case Against Ms. Cheng Laihua Turned Over to Procuratorate
It was reported that Ms. Cheng Laihua from Yuehu District was arrested and taken to the Yingtan City Detention Center for distributing Falun Gong informational USB flash drives. In less than two weeks, her case file was turned over to the Guixi City Procuratorate.
8. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Jinbo Held in Detention Center
Mr. Liu Jinbo from Qixia City was arrested when he was doing odd jobs in the Yantai Development Zone. Mr. Liu is still being held in the Qixia City Detention Center, but his family members are not allowed to visit him.
9. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Shi Zhenjiang Arrested
Mr. Shi Zhenjiang from Yongnian District, Handan City, Hebei Province, was recently arrested by officers from the Wutong Police Station, Tongxiang City, Zhejiang Province.
10. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Zhu Shuifeng Arrested
Ms. Zhu Shuifeng was arrested by the police in the Qilihu area on July 18, 2023, for putting up Falun Gong informational stickers.
11. [Shihezi City, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region] Two Elderly Female Practitioners Arrested
Two elderly female practitioners were arrested at the end of April 2023.
Mr. Yin was found carrying a copy of Zhuan Falun when he was searched at the train station. He was arrested and his home was ransacked.
12. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Sun Lijie Arrested
Ms. Sun Lijie, 50, was arrested on the morning of July 21, 2023.
13. [Heze City, Shandong Province] Several Practitioners Arrested
It was recently reported that around mid-July 2023, Ms. Meng Xianchun and Ms. Ma Yulan were arrested by police officers who broke into Ms. Meng's home. Ms. Meng’s home was then ransacked. After Ms. Ma’s family was pressured to pay 20,000 yuan, she was released.
It was reported that Ms. Wang Yuhua and five or six other practitioners were also arrested.
14. [Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Two Practitioners Arrested
An elderly lady in her 70s who lives in the Hejing Residential Community was recently arrested. The community management staff called her in advance and told her to wait at home. The police later came to her home and ransacked the place. She was arrested and taken to the police station, where she was held for over 10 hours and released. She left home to avoid the persecution.
On July 21, 2023, Ms. Cao Yumei, who lives near the Wenzhoucheng area, was arrested.
15. [Nong’an County, Jilin Province] Mr. Xie Feng Arrested
Mr. Xie Feng from Helong Town was arrested at home on July 12, 2023, by officers from the Baicheng City Police Department. The officers ransacked his home and confiscated his Falun Gong books and his cell phone. Mr. Xie was held out of town, and later taken to the Baicheng Town Detention Center. He failed the physical examination, and was released on bail.
16. [Neijiang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Wang Liangsheng and His Wife Ms. Lai Zongping Harassed Again
Around July 20, 2023, Mr. Wang Liangsheng and his wife Ms. Lai Zongping were repeatedly monitored and harassed by the residential police officer, auxiliary police officers, and personnel dedicated to monitoring Internet content.
These people went to the store where the couple worked and photographed them. That night, they knocked on the door after 9 p.m. and photographed the couple again.
17. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Fengxiang Harassed
Officers led by director of the No. 8 Police Station drove an unmarked car and parked in front of the house of Ms. Zhang Fengxiang’s neighbor around 4 p.m. on June 27, 2023. Four officers broke into Ms. Zhang’s house. Two entered from the front door, and two from the back door, in order to block her from leaving. Ms. Zhang was not at home, however.
From March to June 2023, officers from the police station broke into Ms. Zhang’s home four times to pressure her to sign paperwork and give up practicing Falun Gong.
18. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xiang Ying Detained for 14 Days
Ms. Xiang Ying from Nanding Town, Zhangdian District, was detained for 14 days.
