(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 21 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Xu Hengkui and seven other practitioners were sentenced by the Guan County Court. They appealed to the Liaocheng Intermediate Court, which reversed the decision. The Guan County Court then sent the case to the Chengguan Town Court.
The Chengguan Town Court tried to schedule the trial around August 3, 2023. But Zhang Binliang’s attorney was not able to talk to his client.
Ms. Song Yunmei, 72, and Ms. Niu Yan, 73, both from Huanren County, distributed Falun Gong flyers in Xiguan Community around 10:30 a.m. on March 9, 2023. When Ms. Niu was telling officer Wang Qi about the persecution of Falun Gong, another officer suddenly grabbed Ms. Song and called for reinforcement. Six officers came and drove the two practitioners to the Huanren County Police Department. The officers ransacked Ms. Song’s home and seized a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, a picture of Falun, nine copies of Zhuan Falun, a set of Falun Gong books, a DVD player, four mini-recorders, 19 micro SD cards, two and a half boxes of incense, approximately 50 Falun Gong keepsakes, and 650 yuan in paper currency with Falun Gong messages printed on them.
At the police department, officers laid the Falun Gong flyers, books, and the picture of the founder of Falun Gong on the ground, and photographed Ms. Song with them. The two practitioners were interrogated separately. Ms. Song was held in the police department that night.
Around 1:00 p.m. the next day, the two practitioners were taken to the Benxi City Hospital and underwent physical exams. The doctor said that Ms. Song had severe heart disease and should not be detained. The officers refused to accept his diagnosis and insisted on a new exam. The second exam showed the same result. The officers ordered Ms. Song to sign documents. She refused. They grabbed her hand and pressed her fingerprints on the documents. They released her after she was forced to give her signature.
Officers ransacked Ms. Song’s home again on June 14, 2023. They confiscated a framed picture of the founder of Falun Gong and more than 20 copies of Falun Gong books. Officers ordered her to report to the Benxi City Procuratorate on June 15. She did not go.
