(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 25 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Maoming City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Li Jun Faces Trial
Mr. Li Jun, 73, will be tried in the Maonan District Court at 9:30 a.m. on August 22, 2023.
2. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhang Hua Arrested
Ms. Zhang Hua, 61, stayed at her son’s home in Tongnan District to take care of her grandson. She was arrested on August 7, 2023.
Ms. Zhang has previously been subjected to forced labor and sentenced to prison.
3. [Tieling City, Liaoning Province] The Case Against Hu Fengjun Submitted to the Procuratorate
The case against Hu Fengjun was submitted to the procuratorate.
4. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Changrong Arrested and Detained
Ms. Liu Changrong was arrested by officers from the Shengli Street Police Station at 7:40 p.m. on August 12, 2023. She was detained for five days.
5. [Sanhe City, Hebei Province] Ms. Guan Zhongfeng Arrested
Ms. Guan Zhongfeng from Yanjiao Town was arrested when she distributed information about Falun Gong in a residential community on the afternoon of August 18, 2023.
6. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Hou Meixian Arrested and Detained
Ms. Hou Meixian was reported to police when she distributed information about Falun Gong at the Shizhuang Market and was arrested by officers from the Chengguan Police Station on July 4, 2023. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and a photo of Falun Gong's founder. She was released on bail pending trial on August 1, 2023
7. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yuan Yingmin Harassed
Two officers from the Jianye Township Police Station went to Ms. Yuan Yingmin’s home in Tangjia Village, Jianye Township at 10 a.m. on August 4, 2023. They photographed Ms. Yuan and asked for her cell phone number.
8. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Ms. Che Jing’e Detained
Ms. Che Jing’e was taken to the Jinan Prison three months ago.
9. [Mian County, Shaanxi Province] Eight Practitioners Harassed or Arrested
Officers from the Chengdong Police Station harassed Ms. Xue Lijun and Mr. Chen Qing on May 18, 2023. Mr. Chen was told not to travel to Xi’an City to attend his son’s wedding.
Officers from the Chengxi Police Station harassed Ms. Yu Lan and Mr. Zhang Enping in May 2023.
Ms. Luo Yan and Ms. Du Mengyu were harassed by local police officers and local community staff members on July 29 2023.
The police and community staff members went to Ms. Wang Chunlei’s home on July 30, 2023. They knocked on the door and tried to photograph her. They ransacked her home at 1 a.m. on August 4, 2023, when no one was there. Ms. Wang’s whereabouts are currently unknown.
Chen Qing was arrested at home by officers from the Wuhou Police Station on August 3, 2023. Chen was detained for 13 days.
10. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Tang Min and Her Husband Mr. Lei Yangfan Arrested and Detained
Ms. Tang Min and her husband Mr. Lei Yangfan were arrested by officers from the Wenyi Road Police Station on the evening of February 12, 2023. They were taken to the No. 1 Detention Center and No. 4 Detention Center respectively the next day. Mr. Lei Yangfan was released on August 18, 2023. Ms. Tang Min is still detained.
11. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yang Fengying Detained
Elderly Ms. Yang Fengying from the Economic and Technological Development Zone is detained in the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison. Because she refused to renounce Falun Gong, her family is not allowed to visit her.
12. [Tieling City, Liaoning Province] The Cases Against Zhang Chao and Guo Fengjun Submitted to the Procuratorate
The case against Guo Fengjun was submitted to the Changtu County Procuratorate. The case against Zhang Chao was submitted to the Shuangliao Procuratorate in Jilin City.
13. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhang Chuanfang Arrested
Mr. Zhang Chuanfang was arrested around August 14, 2023. He has been released.
14. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Jinxiu Arrested and Detained
Ms. Wang Jinxiu was seen by surveillance cameras when she distributed information about Falun Gong. Six officers from the Mizhou Road Police Station broke into Ms. Wang Jinxiu’s home at 4 a.m. on July 25, 2023. They ransacked her home and took Ms. Wang to the Zhujie Brainwashing Center. Ms. Wang was detained for 2 days in the brainwashing center and then for 10 days in the Zhucheng City Detention House.
15. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Three Practitioners Harassed
Ms. Jin Yingbi, in her 80s; Ms. Zhang Changyun; and Ms. Wang Guoxiu were harassed by 12 people from the Huanghe Police Station, Pingqiao Police Station, and the local procuratorate on the afternoon of August 10, 2023. They were threatened and told they would be imprisoned if they went out to promote Falun Gong.
