(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 7 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liang Yunju Sentenced to Prison

6. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Guolan Released on Medical Parole; Ms. Chen Haiyan Displaced
1. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liang Yunju Sentenced to Prison
Ms. Liang Yunju, in her 60s, from Liuji Town, Donge County, was recently sentenced to two years in prison by the Yanggu County Court.
Ms. Liang was arrested by officers from the Acheng Police Station when she talked to people about Falun Gong at Acheng Supermarket on April 15, 2023. She was held in the Liangshui Town Detention Center.
2. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Guisheng Taken to Prison
Mr. Zhang Guisheng, in his 70s, was arrested at his home by officers from the Mingshan Police Station on July 13, 2022. He was held in custody. He was tried by the Nanfen District Court on December 8, and sentenced to three years in prison. He appealed, but the Benxi City Intermediate Court upheld the original verdict.
Mr. Zhang was taken to Panjin Prison from the Benxi City Detention Center on July 13, 2023. On July 31, he was transferred to Jinzhou Prison. After his family learned where he was, they repeatedly went to the prison and asked to visit him. The prison officials denied their request on the grounds that Mr. Zhang refused to be “transformed.”
3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Liyan Taken to Prison
Ms. Wang Liyan was sentenced to two years in prison on August 11, 2023. Her family was not notified of the trial. She was sent to Jilin Province Women’s Prison.
4. [Yingtan City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Zhao Longying Held in Public Security Supervision Hospital
Mr. Zhao Longying, 79, from Yujiang District, was arrested in May 2022 for posting “Falun Dafa is Good; Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is Good” signs. He was subsequently released on bail.
Mr. Zhao’s grandson was married in February 2023. When his relatives and friends were gathered, Mr. Zhao was arrested at the wedding banquet by officers from the Honghu Police Station in Yujiang District and Yuehu District Police Department. He was taken directly to the Yingtan City Detention Center.
After spending 15 days in the detention center, Mr. Zhao was transferred to the Yingtan City Public Security Supervision Hospital. One month later, the Guixi City Court held a trial at the hospital. Three months later, Mr. Zhao was sentenced to three years in prison and fined 20,000 yuan. Mr. Zhao is still being held in the hospital.
5. [Ning’an City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Chen Xueyan’s Case Turned Over to Procuratorate
Ms. Chen Xueyan was arrested on August 10, 2023. Her case was turned over to the Hailin City Procuratorate by the Ning’an City Police Department.
6. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Guolan Released on Medical Parole; Ms. Chen Haiyan Displaced
Ms. Yang Guolan and Ms. Chen Haiyan from Lujiatuo Sub-district, Guye District, clarified the truth about Falun Gong at a farmers markets in Yingezhuang Township and Nanfangezhuang Township on August 20, 2023. Ms. Yang was arrested and taken to the Nanfangezhuang Township Police Station by a plainclothes officer. Afterwards, she was released on medical parole for 15 days. Ms. Chen’s home was searched and videotaped, and the officers took a small desk calendar. Ms. Chen has left home to avoid being persecuted.
