Always Keep Saving People In Mind

(Minghui.org) I was detained for four years in 2016 for practicing Falun Dafa, and I missed many opportunities to help Master save people. I recited Master’s lectures from memory every day and looked within. I found that I had the attachment to lust and a strong fear mentality, which caused me to go off track on my cultivation path. I knew I must eliminate these attachments, and save people no matter where I was.

There were lots of opportunities to talk to people about Falun Dafa in the detention center. I knew the director, so I asked to be held in the transition cell. This is where new detainees were first kept when they arrived. This way I could clarify the truth to more people.

Each morning after I finished doing the Falun Dafa exercises, I called out, “Falun Dafa is good!” I did this every day and the detainees began shouting with me. The guards were used to it, and acted as if they didn’t hear anything.

Every time a new detainee was brought in, I was in charge of registering them. After I told them the routine things, I clarified the truth and offered to help them quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its youth organizations.

I tried my best to take care of the new detainees, which laid a good foundation for saving them. The deputy director told the newcomers, “Falun Dafa practitioners have great qualities. They never argue. You should all learn from them.” Oftentimes several detainees surrounded me and asked me to tell them stories about Dafa. I told them about the evil nature of the CCP, and how Jiang Zemin (the former CCP leader) persecuted Dafa. I realized most people who were brought to the detention center wanted to hear about Dafa so they understand Falun Dafa better.

Some detainees were minors. I wrote a truth-clarification letter just for them. I wrote, “Falun Dafa is a high-level Buddhist practice”, “Remembering ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good’ will help you stay safe,” and “the Tiananmen self-immolation incident was staged.”

One detainee was arrested for stealing. When he first came in, he had sciatica and difficulty walking. I clarified the truth to him in detail and told him about the cause and effect of karma. He recited Master’s poems from Hong Yin with me every day. Sometimes he recited silently “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” His health gradually improved and his pain eased. I told him, “If you have faith in your heart, you will have strength under your feet.” He agreed.

In order to better explain things, I wrote a six page letter to the leaders of the police department. I talked about how I benefited from practicing Dafa, how I cultivated, and that there was no legal basis to persecute practitioners. I said that there is no law that defines Falun Dafa as being illegal, nor did I commit any crime. I also pointed out that Falun Dafa is protected by the Constitution and laws in China, the truth about the “Tiananmen self-immolation incident” and “1400 alleged deaths.” I wrote about the current situation in China, and the heavenly principle that good is rewarded and evil is punished.

It was as if my memory opened up, and I could recall all the truth-clarification materials I previously read on the Minghui website. After I finished writing the letter, I made several copies by hand. I gave one to my lawyer, one to the procuratorate, and kept a few for myself. Whenever a new detainee came, I told him, “Take a look at my defense statement and see if you can give me some advice.” I used this as a way to help them understand the truth.

My letter was comprehensive and described my personal experience, so it was very convincing. One detainee was worried about his disobedient son. After reading my letter, he said, “Falun Dafa can change people. It’s so miraculous. I will ask my son to practice Falun Dafa when I am released.”

I was reported for promoting Falun Dafa with my letter. A manager was angry and wanted to tear it up. I said, “This is my defense statement.” I asked a division chief to help me, and he talked to the manager and confirmed that it was indeed a defense statement. I clarified the truth to the division chief long ago. Just like that, the letter continued to play its role. When I was taken to the prison, the guards kept the letters, claiming that they were “temporarily keeping them for me.”

Saving Sentient Beings in My New Job

I lost my job because of the persecution. I wanted to find a new one so I would have a stable income, but also time to save people. Under Master’s compassionate arrangement, I found an extra-curricular activities training school. I met the owner some 30 years ago. I had clarified the truth to him, and he accepted what I said.

The owner was in urgent need of teachers for the beginner class for Go (an ancient Chinese board game). The owner watched me for several days. He felt my character was good and he hired me. The salary was not high, but there was a lot of free time, which was great for doing the three things.

Less than a week later, a design company sent me an official offer with a higher salary, but I would not have as much free time. Although I liked design work, I wouldn’t have much time to do the three things. So I declined the offer.

After some time, my salary increased. My family was very happy for me because I found such a good position even though I was close to retirement. I am very grateful to Master, and also determined to cherish the opportunity to cultivate myself well and clarify the truth to save people in that environment.

I took my earnings lightly and accepted what the owner offered me. At the same time, I gave my best effort at work, constantly thinking about how I could improve my teaching method. I knew that doing a good job at work is part of being a good person, and doing so would also create a favorable environment to validate the Fa.

I normally taught students on the weekends and then went to a kindergarten for an hour on weekdays. Go is a traditional game, and my idea was that in the process of teaching them to play Go, I could help the kids return to the traditional values and help them understand the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

I regarded all the students as my own family members whom I needed to save. I felt all of them were little angels from heaven. I was very attentive and patient when I taught the children. Their parents saw it and were happy, which laid the foundation for me to clarify the truth to them.

Between classes, I found ways to talk to the parents one-on-one and help them quit the CCP. Sometimes, I was able to talk with them when they came to pick up their children after class. The parents saw the improvements in their children’s behavior, so when I talked about how bad the current situation in China is, they immediately related to what I said. It wasn’t difficult to help them quit the Party.

I talked to a father after class. He told me that he was in the construction industry in Shenzhen City, but couldn’t return there due to COVID. I told him about the causes of all disasters, the dark side of the CCP, and then I talked about Falun Dafa. I helped him quit the Party and gave him a USB flash drive with more information for him to read about. He said that chatting with me was very informative and interesting and that he learned things he had never heard of in the past.

I clarified the truth to the older children and asked them to quit the CCP’s youth organizations. For the younger ones, I first told them about being a good person. For instance, I asked a little girl, “Do you know Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance?”

“I’ve seen some messages printed in money,” she replied. “My mother told me that Falun Dafa is not good.”

I seriously said to her, “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good. Don’t you want to be a child who is sincere, kind, and tolerant?”

She firmly responded, “Yes, I do!”

I continued, “Bad people made up lies because they are jealous of Falun Dafa. Falun Dafa practitioners follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, to be good people.” I then helped her quit the Young Pioneers.

This also showed that money imprinted with truth-clarification phrases and other Dafa materials are very important. Many children read them, and it greatly helps when we clarify the truth to them in the future. After realizing the importance of Dafa materials, I started a material production site in my home.

One day, the owner of the training school found out that I was previously sentenced, and told me that according to the “Sports Law” and “Education Law,” convicted criminals cannot teach children. I showed him the truth-clarification letter I wrote to the procuratorate with the related legal facts. He understood, and said, “Falun Dafa is not a cult. Falun Dafa practitioners are different from other people. You can teach here.”

I must constantly rectify myself, and save more people. I will be more strict with myself, let go of attachments, and live up to Master’s saving grace.
