(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 12 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Yang Chunxiu, around 50, was arrested at home on November 14, 2023. Four officers led by director Men Yang from the Guangji Police Station waited in front of her condo building. They followed her into her home when she returned from work. They ransacked the place and seized her Falun Gong books, copies of Minghui Weekly, Falun Gong keepsakes, a portable player, and two memory cards. She was held in the police station all afternoon, and returned home around 6:30 p.m.
On December 24, 2023, Ms. Yang went to the police station and asked that her Falun Gong books be returned. Director Men Yang told her she would be indicted after the New Year.
Mr. Du Guangjun, from Yangshulin Township, Nong’an County, was arrested at home by officers from the local police station on January 3, 2024. Someone reported him for telling people about Falun Gong. He was to be detained for seven days.
Ms. Zhang Fuling and Ms. Dong Deqin of Wutai Township were arrested by officers from the Wutai Township Police Station after 1:00 p.m. on January 6, 2024. The police planned to detain them.
Ms. Yang Xiuhong and Mr. Qi Yajie of Wendeng City handed out calendars with information about Falun Gong in the Gaocun Market on December 18, 2023. Someone reported them and they were arrested and taken to the local police station. The police tried to force Ms. Yang and Mr. Qi to sign papers. They refused and were released that day.
The police went to their office and tried to make them sign the papers on December 26, 2023. They again refused. The police ransacked their home, seized their Falun Gong books, Falun Gong calendars and New Year pictures, U-drives, and other items.
Officers from the Wendeng City Police Department recently tried to force Ms. Yang and Mr. Qi to sign the Release on Bail Notification.
Ms. Chang Guihua of Zunhua City was harassed at home by two officers from the Cuijiazhuang Town Police Station around 9:30 a.m. on December 25, 2023. They said the Domestic Security Division ordered her to provide a blood sample.
Ms. Wang Yuzhen of the Nanshan District was harassed at home on December 13, 2023. Officers from the local police station photographed her against her will.
Ms. Xing Ni of Fengjia Village, Lutou Town was also harassed.
Police went to Ms. Han Wenmei’s home in Fengjia Village, Lutou Town, but she was out of town visiting her child.
Ms. Su Xianrong of Nanjiang Town was arrested by Nanjiangqiao Police Station officers after 3:00 p.m. on December 23, 2023, after someone reported her for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police ransacked her home and seized her Falun Gong books and other items. She was taken to the police station. When her family returned home from work, they learned that Ms. Su was arrested. They immediately went to the police station to appeal for her release. She and her family came home after 9:00 p.m., but the police did not return her belongings.
Ms. Fan Shulan’s home was ransacked by officers from the Liudao Police Station and the Zhenxing District Domestic Security Division on April 17, 2023, after someone reported her when she talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The officers seized her Falun Gong books and other personal items. She was subjected to release on bail. Her case was submitted to the Zhen’an District Procuratorate.
Ms. Fan went to the procuratorate on the afternoon of November 14 and told the person in charge that there was no legal basis for the persecution. It was learned that the procuratorate has returned her case to the police station.
