(Minghui.org) People often say that “good is rewarded with good, and evil meets with evil.” Often, this saying proves true in everyday life, as seen with how Chinese people are reacting to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of their fellow citizens who practice Falun Dafa. These different attitudes often bring about different results—just like what happened with two police officers in my area, Zhao and Meng.

After the persecution started in 1999, both of them were sent to Beijing to arrest local practitioners who went there to appeal to the government. After some time, Meng learned practitioners were good people, unlike what the CCP propaganda made them out to be. Since then, he tried to avoid any activities related to the persecution. When other officers took practitioners to the police station for interrogation, he was silent and tried to excuse himself. “These practitioners are innocent and they are very good,” he often said to his relatives and friends.

Later on, Meng received blessings because of his kindness. His entire family have been healthy. Both his son and daughter-in-law found decent jobs after graduating from college. In addition, Meng’s wife had a relaxed life after retirement and their grandson was an adorable little boy.

Zhao was quite different. After being rewarded for arresting and detaining practitioners, he became even more active in doing bad deeds. Gradually, he was promoted to be the head of the 610 Office for our district. Moreover, he accepted lots of bribes and tried to build connections: his daughter Hong married the son of a two high officials in the city government. Neither Hong or her husband worked much, but they were very wealthy and hired three nannies to take care of their mansion.

But these good times did not last long. After a few years, Hong’s parents-in-law were arrested for corruption. Her husband owed lots of money due to gambling and had to sell their house to pay his debts. The couple later divorced, leaving Hong no choice but to raise their child herself without alimony. She rented an apartment and needed someone to look after the child while she went to work. But her mother was severely ill and could not help; the health of her father (Zhao) also deteriorated quickly to the point where he had to stay in the ICU, where he has remained to this day.

I sincerely hope that more CCP officials can learn from the stories of these two policemen. Mistreating innocent people such as Falun Gong practitioners will not only harm others, but also themselves.
