(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 35 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Five practitioners, including Mr. Wang Zexing, Mr. Zhou Shuyou, Mr. Wang Nanfang, Ms. Hu Fengju, and Ms. Hu Mingli, are facing indictment after the police submitted their cases to the Wanghua District Procuratorate in Fushun City.
Mr. Zhao Yuming and Mr. Wang Yuguo of Renhe District, and Ms. Ji Xiangshou of Dong District were arrested by Dong District’s Donghua Police Station officers on the morning of September 13, 2023. Their homes were ransacked. They were held at the Mianshawan Detention Center and released on bail on October 19, 2023.
Prosecutor Zhou Xiaojun of the Dong District Procuratorate submitted their case to the Dong District Court on September 25, 2024. They are now scheduled to stand trial on October 25, 2024.
Mr. Liu Binghuan, a native of Jinan City, Shandong Province, was forced to move to Qingyuan to avoid persecution. He was arrested at his apartment in Yangshan County, Qingyuan City by local police officers in the end of September 2024. It’s reported that the Qingyuan police were planning to hand him over to the Jinan police.
Ms. Sun Caiyan appeared in the Ganjingzi District Court on September 9, 2024. She refused to be represented by the court-appointed lawyer and acted as her own lawyer. Her 85-year-old mother, who was just released from serving a three-year term for practicing Falun Gong, is working hard to seek her release despite her impaired mobility.
At least fourteen practitioners and two of their family members were arrested in Yanqing District on September 23, 2024. Among the arrested were Ms. Xi Ping, Ms. Yang Xiulan, Mr. Hao Xiufeng, Ms. Zhang Xiuhua, Ms. Wang Chaoying and her husband Mr. Guo Zhenfang, Ms. Wu Fangling and her husband Mr. Wang Jianmin, Ms. Zhang Yan (also known as Zhang Chunfeng) and her two sisters, Ms. Zhang Xiulan, Ms. Liang Fenglian, Ms. Liu Yuling, Ms. Zhang Yanrong and Ms. Wu Zhenye. Both Mr. Guo and Mr. Wang don’t practice Falun Gong.
Seven of the female practitioners, including Ms. Xi, Ms. Zhang Xiuhua, Ms. Wang, Ms. Wu, Ms. Liang, Ms. Zhang Yan, and Ms. Liu, have been released.
Ms. Wang Xiuying, 82, was harassed by officers from the Pingdu City Court on the morning of August 27, 2024. They tried to take a photo of her and collect her fingerprints. She did not cooperate. Instead, she talked to them about why the persecution of Falun Gong is illegal. The officers harassed her again on the morning of September 11.
Mr. Liu Zushou was arrested at home by four plainclothes officers from the Chengnan Police Station and clerks from Taiping Community around 10 a.m. on May 31, 2024. They said he was recorded by a surveillance camera while distributing Falun Gong flyers. They seized a copy of Zhuan Falun and took him to the police station. They threatened that his children’s work and his grandson’s education would be affected if he did not renounce Falun Gong. They forcefully took photos of him and collected his blood sample and fingerprints. They also forced him to renounce Falun Gong and sign the deposition. He was released the same day.
Ms. Yao Jiaxiu of Panzhihua City was arrested in Luzhou City in the same province, by officers from Jiangyang District, Luzhou City. She was taken to Xichang City on September 29, 2024, and has been held there since.
Mr. Du Ting wasn’t allowed to leave his subdivision around the national holiday on October 1. The authorities arranged unidentified people to monitor him around the clock outside of his home.
Mr. Ma Yitao of Beian City finished a seven-year prison term and was released on September 9, 2024.
Ms. Li Hong of Caoyang District noticed someone was following her on the morning of September 27, 2024. She also saw strangers near her apartment elevator monitoring her.
Ms. Zhang Zhirong of Yitandian Village was arrested in front of her home by officers from the Laixi Domestic Security Division and Shuiji Police Station on September 26, 2024. Her Falun Gong books, printers, computers, Falun Gong printouts, and other items were confiscated. She is being held in the Laixi Detention Center.
When Ms. Liang Lihong traveled to her daughter’s home in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, on July 15, 2024, the railway station security searched her luggage and found two Falun books and other articles written by the founder of Falun Gong. She was taken to the railway police station. The police questioned her about where she got the books and ordered her to sign the interrogation report. She was held there for three hours.
Ms. Xu Jinfeng took her granddaughter to Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, for an operation on September 1, 2024. When they entered the railway station around 7 p.m., two officers deceived her into going with them to the railway police station. They searched her luggage in front of her granddaughter. She was allowed to leave soon after and boarded the train on time.
