(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners peacefully protested during the G20 Summit held in Rio de Janeiro on November 18 and 19, 2024, calling for an end to the persecution of their fellow practitioners in China. 

On November 17, the day before the summit, practitioners came to Praia de Gloria and distributed fliers and brochures to residents and tourists. They told people about Falun Dafa and how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has brutally persecuted the spiritual discipline since 1999. They also displayed banners demanding that the CCP immediately stop the forced organ harvesting from living prisoners of conscience.

Practitioners went to Praia de Copacabana (Copacabana Beach) on November 18, to introduce the practice and raise awareness of the persecution in China—including the state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting operations that use Dafa practitioners as their primary source. People were shocked by the brutality of the persecution and told practitioners to keep up the good work of raising awareness. Many people expressed their support for basic human rights in China: freedom of speech and belief.

On the afternoon of November 19, practitioners gathered at Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas in the center of Rio de Janeiro, a beautiful place frequented by local residents and tourists. They did the Falun Dafa exercises, which attracted much attention. A mother with her two children and a friend stopped and watched. One woman said, “Wow, what a beautiful practice. Can we practice too?” A practitioner told them about the local practice site, and the women said they would come learn the exercises.

Kadu, a yoga instructor, passed by on his bicycle. He told a practitioner that he also practiced Falun Dafa sometimes at home. He was very interested in doing the exercises with others.

On November 19, practitioners distributed information to people on the street. At a real estate agency, many staff members were interested in learning the exercises and wanted to know where the nearest practice site was.
