(Minghui.org) Master Li’s teaching crossed my mind today, “Pacify the External by Cultivating the Internal” (“Pacify the External by Cultivating the Internal,” Essentials For Further Advancement). I used to think it was referring to how a leader should govern a nation, but I realized today it also applies to our daily lives.
When we encounter conflicts, difficulties, and cultivation tests at home, we should “Pacify the External by Cultivating the Internal.” When we cultivate well, conflicts and problems at home will be resolved. When we cultivate well, our hearts and minds will move in the right direction.
Sometimes we like to force our family members to change according to our standards, or in a direction we think is right. The more attached we are and the more we look outward, the more they’ll refuse to change. But when we search inward and cultivate ourselves, our family and environment will change accordingly.
I realize now that as cultivators, no matter what happens, we should search inward unconditionally, cultivate ourselves to avoid detours, and as a result, our environment will change.
My understanding is limited, please kindly correct me if I’m not in line with the Fa.
Articles in which cultivators share their understandings typically reflect an individual's perception at a point in time based on their cultivation state, and they are offered in the spirit of enabling mutual elevation.
