It’s Time to Take Sending Forth Righteous Thoughts Seriously

(Minghui.org) In 2001, Master taught us the Fa on sending forth righteous thoughts. It’s one of the three things we as Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples have to do well.

Master said on May 19, 2001,

“...our students can quiet their minds for five minutes, sitting with their hands in jieyin and thinking about eliminating the bad thoughts in their minds, their karma, bad notions, and external interference. As you’re like this, think that they die, and then they will be eliminated. Five minutes will do. (Applause) When we get together for group practice, think about eliminating the evil in the Three Realms, while holding one hand vertically (li-zhang) in front of the chest, and just think with True Thoughts for five minutes—this should do it. (Applause) It will work, because you are, after all, magnificent cultivators and are different from everyday people.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the 2001 Canada Fa Conference,” Guiding the Voyage)

In December 2001, Master taught us,

“In the past it wasn’t called “sending forth righteous thoughts,” it was “divine powers”—using divine powers, Buddha Fa’s divine powers. Everyday people have referred to them as “supernormal abilities.” So why do I call it sending forth righteous thoughts? Since you’re doing Dafa cultivation, everything should be the most magnificent and the purest. None of the things we do are just about your personal cultivation. We have to also consider the Fa, and we have to consider the new beings of the future, and, at the same time, we have to consider the form of beings in the future. Because you’re laying a foundation for them, the path we take has to be righteous. Whatever you do today, the future people will remark, “That’s how Dafa disciples did it back then,” so we can see that many things are major. This is why we have to be pure when we send forth righteous thoughts.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the Conference in Florida, U.S.A.,” Collected Teachings Given Around the World Volume II)

In October 2002, Master again taught us how to send forth righteous thoughts,

“(1) You should focus your attention and your effort, your mind has to be absolutely clear and rational, the force of your thoughts needs to be focused and strong, with an air of supremacy and of destroying all evil in the cosmos. (2) The disciples who for the time being aren’t able to see other dimensions can focus powerful thoughts in saying the word mie after they finish saying the formula. The mie word needs to be so strong that it’s as large as the cosmic body, encompassing everything and leaving out nothing in any dimension.” (“Righteous Thoughts,” The Essentials of Diligent Progress III)

Twenty-three years have passed, and I feel we still haven’t reached the state Master requires, although some practitioners may feel they’ve done a good job sending righteous thoughts.

It saddens me to see that the persecution remains rampant and that the Chinese Communist Party can even manipulate people to sue Master. Isn’t this caused by our being stuck in our cultivation and not understanding the Fa thoroughly? Isn’t it happening because we haven’t cultivated ourselves well? We allowed the old forces to exploit our loopholes and take advantage of our gaps. We should all wake up!

From the teaching in Zhuan Falun, we know that a low-level spirit can make people pick up a wallet on the street and direct people to false qigong masters for treatment. The remnants of the old forces are more powerful than those low-level spirits, and they can easily manipulate people to do all kinds of evil.

Master said,

“There is a transition at the lowest level of cultivation, and this is to purify your body completely. All of the bad things in your mind, the karmic field surrounding your body, and the elements that make your body unhealthy will be cleaned out. If they are not cleaned out, how can you, with such an impure, dark body and a filthy mind, cultivate toward a higher level?” (Lecture One, Zhuan Falun)

From the Fa, we know that after the parts of us that have cultivated well have been separated, the parts that haven’t been cultivated well remain, and are still subject to contamination in everyday society. This makes it even more important to send forth righteous thoughts well so we can constantly cleanse ourselves, continually raise our cultivation levels, and eliminate the remaining old-force factors, and safeguard the Fa.

It’s important that we all take sending righteous thoughts seriously and do it well. It shouldn’t be just a formality—we truly need to understand the essence and importance of it. This will also help us improve quickly so we can better handle the difficulties and challenges we encounter on our cultivation paths.

Over the past six months, I gained deeper understandings and enlightenment on how to send forth righteous thoughts. I also feel strong energy when I send them. I saw three golden dragons confined in my own energy field, and when my abilities increased, they rush out to participate in the battle between good and evil.

I sometimes hear practitioners say things like, “I can’t do much, so I’ll just send forth positive energy.” It sounds passive, as if sending righteous thoughts is the last resort. I’d like to remind fellow practitioners that sending righteous thoughts is one of the three things Master required of us and it is essential. It plays a powerful role in eliminating evil; we cannot underestimate its importance. All Dafa disciples should do it with utmost seriousness so that we can form a largest field of righteous energy, display the power of Dafa disciples in the human world, and save sentient beings.
