(Minghui.org) I have been printing materials to help people learn the facts about Dafa and the persecution ever since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began suppressing Falun Dafa. These materials are very important, as by reading them people can learn what is going on and choose a better future for themselves, so I always do my best to produce high quality materials, and provide them as soon as other practitioners need them to distribute. The materials include copies of Minghui Weekly, DVDs, amulets, Minghui calendars, and posters.
I have experienced all kinds of challenges over the years. In the beginning I had financial difficulties, and later on I had other kinds of problems including safety-related issues associated with the persecution. But no matter how difficult it seemed, I was able to make it through with protection and blessings from Master Li, the founder of Falun Dafa. Whenever I see the well-prepared materials being given out to people so that they can be saved, I truly experience the solemnity, sanctity, and honor of saving sentient beings.
As time passed, I noticed that several other materials production sites had quality issues. For example, the covers of some booklets were not made of coated paper, let alone were they printed without borders; the inner pages of some booklets were too thin and the printing on both sides bled through; the pictures were blurry and messy; there were illegible characters, broken lines, and pictures with streaks; colors were missing and off-color, and so on.
When I discussed the situation with the practitioner who made these materials, he said they were already much better than those made in earlier years. He said the materials used to be in black and white but now they were in color. As long as they could be used to save lives, why the fuss?
Some practitioners leave printers running at home. After setting up to print dozens of copies, they go out to tell people the facts about Dafa or run errands. When they come back, the printer has finished printing. But some pages are missing or off-color, and the characters are blurry and barely readable. Since they do not want to waste a big stack of paper, they just go out and distribute what was printed.
Some printers have been used for a long time. The characters and pictures they print out are gray or off-color. But some practitioners are still using them to print materials.
Being frugal, cherishing things, and making good use of our time is not wrong when it comes either to either our everyday life or our cultivation. But we should not cut corners and sacrifice quality. After all, we are not doing something casual, since the materials we prepare will be used to save people. This requires a sense of responsibility, seriousness, and dedication.
Of course, we are not professionals who can produce top-notch printed materials. But given the existing conditions, we can always make the products better. At least the characters should be clear and the pictures bright, with everything clean and tidy.
Besides, this is cultivation, and we cannot stay at the same level for decades. Whenever possible, we should strive to constantly hold ourselves to a high standard and do better and better.
This is what I do when problems arise: If the print head is clogged, I clean it to ensure that the printed pages are clear and complete, and I make sure the color does not smear.
I use 115 gsm (or 30 lb) coated paper—a package of 100 sheets costs 10 yuan. Please do not use margins to print the cover. The result is much better because it is more beautiful and more formal.
I use 70 gsm (or 18 lb) copy paper that comes eight packages in a box, 4000 sheets in total. If the box costs about 120 yuan, the paper is usually not good enough and the ink easily bleeds through. Paper costing 125 yuan or 130 yuan per box is usually acceptable.
As Falun Dafa practitioners, we have benefited enormously both physically and spiritually. We can not repay Master’s boundless grace, but we can produce high quality materials so that people will learn the facts about Dafa and have bright futures. We should not disappoint the people waiting to be saved. We should be worthy of Master’s compassionate salvation.
Let us pay attention to the details and put more effort as well as dedication into what we do. We can do it.
