(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 4 cities or counties in 3 provinces, where at least 9 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Verdict Against Ma Yun Upheld

1. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Verdict Against Ma Yun Upheld
Ma Yun (gender unknown), 60, was arrested on April 22, 2023. Ma’s home was ransacked, and Ma Yun was held in custody. The Jiguan District Procuratorate turned Ma’s case over to the Jidong County Procuratorate on July 28. Ma was tried by the Jidong County Court on November 14, sentenced to eight years in prison, and fined 20,000 yuan.
Ma appealed. The case was heard by the Jixi City Intermediate Court on January 24, 2024. The original verdict was upheld.
2. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Yu Rongxiang Placed Under Residential Surveillance
Seven people from the Leshan City Domestic Security Division, the Pengshan Road Police Station, and the community management office ransacked Mr. Yu Rongxiang’s home on the morning of February 6, 2024. They confiscated his Falun Gong books, DVDs, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and a computer. Mr. Yu, in his 70s, was taken to the police station. The officers interrogated him and recorded his answers. They placed him under one year of residential surveillance.
Mr. Yu was imprisoned for his faith for three years starting in 2015.
3. [Hailin City, Heilongjiang Province] Several Practitioners Arrested
Officers from the Hailin City Domestic Security Division and various police stations went to the homes of several Falun Gong practitioners with search warrants on January 30, 2024. They questioned the practitioners and asked if they had any Falun Gong materials. The practitioners were then taken to the police station where the officers collected more informational for follow-up persecution.
The practitioners known to have been arrested are: Ms. Fu Xuefei, Ms. Wei Liping, Ms. Qi Huiling, Ms. Han Zhenghua, Mr. Li Xiaoming. Ms. Liu Rumin was not at home when her home was raided.
4. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhang Wenjun Harassed
Deputy director Tang of the Longhua Police Station, in Longtan District, led four officers to break into Mr. Zhang Wenjun’s home on the morning of November 30, 2023. They searched the place on the grounds that someone reported him to the police for distributing Falun Gong materials. They confiscated a copy of Zhuan Falun and some printed materials.
Mr. Zhang was detained for 10 days. He returned home on December 11.
